A very busy but satisfying weekend..... Friday night

This has been such a busy weekend for me, full of lots of great things to do and spending time with friends and family.

It started on Friday night when TraderVic and I went for dinner at Acland Street, St Kilda with our two dear friends, Kim and Gino and then onto see Jose Feliciano in concert.

Acland Street, St Kilda is a trendy area of Melbourne, renowned for its restaurants and beautiful cake shops. It is right near Luna Park (Melbourne's iconic fun park) and the Palais Theatre where we saw Jose.

Acland Street is full of quirky sights such as these life-size statues on the roof of one of the buildings

Easy to get to by tram and the palm trees make Acland Street (and St Kilda) seem exotic
The cakes are too die for...

I used to love going to Luna Park as a child

Lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from.

A Melbourne landmark: The Palaias Theatre at night

Two Melbourne landmarks side by side: Luna Park and the Palais

Jose Feliciano was magnificent - his voice was so pure (the acoustics are excellent at The Palais) and his guitar work indescribable.  His singing was much better than this Youtube clip shows you.

Well, I can see that I am going to have to write about my weekend in parts as I need to get on with my Father's Day baking (it is 8.15 am on Sunday morning here and I am up early to get ready for my family coming over for Father's Day morning tea).

hugs,

What an awesome start to your weekend, and how cool to know that you saw Jose Feliciano in concert...in Australia! That totally rocks (literally) lol. Of course my tummy has to ask, did you eat any cake while on Acland Street? :)
Melbourne looks just gorgeous, one day I shall get there :)
A Happy Father's Day to TraderVic.
