About Me

My photo
My name is Kaye and I am 58 years old. Unbelievably to me, at my age, I have now just embarked upon my third career - as a History Education Consultant! I love to cross stitch and quilt, especially with my kittens, Furio and Milo "helping" me. I also love to read, I have a passion for history and I have been cooking since I was about 12 - move over Junior Masterchef! So, this blog, which started out as a cross stitch blog sometimes morphs into a reading journal or a history lesson (sorry, I used to be a secondary teacher before I became a publisher and now a consultant) or a post about my cooking mojo. Whatever it is, this blog is alway about me, my family and my life here in Eaglemont, Victoria. I have been happily married for over 30 years to the most wonderful man and we are blessed with three beautiful grown up children.

My first attempt at "Designing"....

This is my first ever attempt at designing, with inspiration from other items I have stitched.  Somehow, Furio managed to sneak in!  lol!

This first figure is my DS2, with her long hair:

... and this is myself with my short hair and Furio:

I have plans to vary the design somewhat and stitch other versions for RAKs, I think.

hugs,

P.S. I am attempting to move over to Bloglovin' so, I have to post this text to do so - please ignore.

Wonderful design Kaye! I like how Furio snuck into it ... lol! In all your future designs, you could include a little Furio somewhere. It would be like your "signature" : )

You've done a great job Kaye. Yes, Furio could become your signature!

The text you printed about bloglovin should be on the side. Go to template, add gadget, Button HTML and when you open it paste that lot of letters. The bloglovin button will appear on your side and your followers will be able to follow you with it.AriadnefromGreece.

I love it! I'm afraid my first attempt wouldn't be anywhere near that cute. Someday I will give it a try.

So sweet, I'm sure your sister will love it. I can't believe it's your first attempt because a) it's really good and b) you've been stitching for so long!
I often find it difficult to get the right design here in the UK so have frequently had to resort to charting my own. Now we have the Internet it is much easier to find varied designs.

Congratulations, that's a wonderful design. And it's so versatile, you can also use it for an RAK for a friend.
