Three Film reviews and a Book review...

Over the past few weeks I have been lucky enough to see some great films at my local cinema, the beautiful art deco, Rivoli in Camberwell.

I saw:
"American Hustle", which I give 5 stars. The ensemble cast were fantastic.  Especially Christian Bale.

"The Wolf of Wall Street" which was also a 5 star movie.

Leonardo Di Caprio is amazing in this film.  I think that he is a fantastic actor.  I have always thought so, from the time I first saw him as a young boy in "What's eating Gilbert Grape?"

Lastly, I saw "The Book Thief" which is a novel about Nazi Germany during WWII written by an Australian author, Markus Zusak.  It stars Geoffrey Rush (an amazing Australian actor) and the young girl in it is wonderful. Also 5 stars.

I got home from seeing the movie at 9.40pm and at 9.41pm I was reading the novel - now I can highly recommend this novel as well.

Lastly, I just want to remind you to join in the fun of my Grow Your Party Giveaway, entries close on Feb 15th, you can join in the fun on this post.

hugs,

We went to see the Book Thief yesterday. I agree it was a great film. We were trying to stay cool as our cooling system died on Saturday!

I loved reading The Book Thief. We still haven't been to see the movie.
There are some great movies out there at the moment I just need more hours in the day so that I can go and see them! :)

I have always admired Leo but it was his role in Blood Diamonds which really made me sit up and notice him as a talented actor. I would love to see Wall Street. The trailer looks really good.

Hello Kaye,

There certainly are some great movies out. I agree The Book Thief was a good movie, the cinema was full. Like you we went straight to Dymocks and purchased the book. Apparently they are busy lending that book out at our local library.

Happy Monday.
Bev.

Oooh, I've been looking forward to watching all those movies. American Hustle and The Book Thief haven't come out here yet. The Wolf of Wall Street has, but they've censored it so much it's not watchable. :(

Some good movies to see! I've never heard of The Book Thief. I've been planted in my stitchy chair so much lately I'm out of touch with these things.
