About Me

My photo
My name is Kaye and I am 58 years old. Unbelievably to me, at my age, I have now just embarked upon my third career - as a History Education Consultant! I love to cross stitch and quilt, especially with my kittens, Furio and Milo "helping" me. I also love to read, I have a passion for history and I have been cooking since I was about 12 - move over Junior Masterchef! So, this blog, which started out as a cross stitch blog sometimes morphs into a reading journal or a history lesson (sorry, I used to be a secondary teacher before I became a publisher and now a consultant) or a post about my cooking mojo. Whatever it is, this blog is alway about me, my family and my life here in Eaglemont, Victoria. I have been happily married for over 30 years to the most wonderful man and we are blessed with three beautiful grown up children.

IHSW and TUSAL update...

.... only a couple of days late.

First of all, here is my TUSAL update - as you can see, lots of wool ORTs this month.

Here are my year to date ORTs, next to my first camellia of the season.

... and here is my May IHSW update ...

I stitched some more on my Prairie Schooler Santa's Twelve Days of Christmas SAL which I do with my dear friend,  Linda.

Then I finished stitching my pink version of "Counting"  I used some antique buttons and found some perfect material to complement it in my patchwork stash.

Furio seemed to like the finished product.

... and just to end, here is Furio "watching" Outlander" - lol!

Well, that is it for me tonight, off to watch some more Outlander.

hugs,

Love the saying on the pillow and the pillow has a beautiful finish.
Furio: You watch t.v. like me with your eyes closed.

Hi Kaye - Furio is like my Site Manager, always asleep & definitely not watching anything but the inside of his eyelids!

Good looking ORTs and a beautiful flower. Loving your finished pillow - always good to have it pet approved! And I can see that Furio finds Outlander completely riveting.

Hello Kaye,

I love the saying on your latest cross stitch, rather appropriate for not only a cross stitcher but someone who crochets and knits.

Happy days.
Bev.

I can see Furio is just totally enthralled with Outlander. It must soothe him. "Don't talk to me" could be me in any craft ahaha. The whole finish is great, love the little spool.

Nice progress on the PS piece. And what a beautiful finishing on the counting pillow. You seem to love playing with buttons, too.

The Prairie Schooler set will be stunning when you complete all! Love it!

Love that quote! You should stuff the pillow with something heavy so you can throw it at people who do break the rule!

Furio is a handsome fellow. I read the Outlander books but haven't watched any of it as yet - would you recommend it?
