RIP Phil Hughes

Australia is reeling at the untimely death of elite Cricketer, Phil Hughes, killed in a freakish accident when batting in a Sheffield Shield match.

You can read about it here.

So sad, my condolences to his family, friends and his team mates.  My heart goes out to the poor bowler as well.

Once...

I was blown away by the most wonderful musical!

Last night my dear sister and I went to see Once at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne.

All I can say is that it was wonderful!

Tom Parsons was excellent as the Guy.

I have never quite seen a musical like it, with the "orchestra" actually playing parts on stage and at intermission we were all invited on stage to have a drink! Amazing!

If you have not seen it yet, I can highly recommend it.

OH NO! There is ....

MORE BAH HUMBUG...

Yep, Sue Hillis is feeding my addiction with a second book of  those quirky Bah Humbug designs.

So, of course I had to buy it!  Here  is my fun fabbie and my floss toss.

... and here is my first one:  String of Lights on the delightful "Waterfall Blue" evenweave fabric (sorry the colour leached out of this photo).

I am so hooked on these designs - they are just so much fun to stitch!

Well, off to work in a minute and so train stitching, here I come.  After work it is shopping for shoes to go with my dress for the wedding and then dinner at Pelligrini's in the city and off to see "Once".

Big day ahead!

You all have a great one,

... and the Bah Humbugs continue....

with Santa's Hat.....

When will it ever end?

When I have finished all five designs, of course!

Only Two to go!  lol!

How is all your Christmas stitching going?

A bit of a FNSI failure......

... that's me!

I had great plans to stitch two more of my Bah Humbug designs but.....

I ended up getting home late from work as I was asked to go to a book launch for these two novels:

The husband of one of my friend's at work is the author of "Endsinger" and his novel was being launched at Dymock's in the city last evening.

It was lots of fun however I was late getting home so I only had time to stitch a little more on Santa's Hat from Bah Humbug.

Not sure how much stitching I am going to get done this weekend either as today is busy with spending some time with my Dad and then my daughter-in-law-to-be and I have an appointment with the florist for the wedding, then we need to see the wedding cake people.  And tomorrow, my daughter and I are on the hunt for a dress for me for the wedding.

Oh dear, only 7 weeks to the wedding!  Aaagghhh!  Will I make it?

Anyway, how did you all go last night?

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Here is my latest finish and the start of the next one!

.... and the Christmas stitching continues....

... as does my Little Sheep Virtues SAL.

This is the Little Sheep Virtues SAL I am doing with I am doing with Sarah, Lija and Anne. I am now working on "Love"
.
(sorry, for some reason all of my photos are looking washed out today - must be the grey, old day we have so far today).

Then, I have been stitching on

This is Raggedy Tree - stitched on 28 ct silk/linen and I changed some the threads.

... and then I started on  Christmas Stocking:  again, 28 ct silk/linen and a few thread changes .  This still has some branches, a border and the words Bah Humbug to be added.

Well, that is all from me today.  How is your Christmas stitching going?

Ballarat with my Dad....

This weekend, TraderVic and I took my 95 year old Dad up to Ballarat for an overnight visit with my dear Uncle and Aunt, Ron and Iris.

Due to Mum's ill health, the last few years of her life, it had been several years since he had been up to visit the.  He really enjoyed the overnight outing.

I must admit, I have said it before and I will probably say it again - I love visiting Ron and Iris and Ballarat is so beautiful.  We had a quick visit (Dad cannot walk far and he feels the cold) to the Botanic Gardens and then a lovely Sunday lunch at an English pub, the North Britain, then home.

So, I have lots of lovely photos to show you:

Our first female prime minister, Julia Gillard, has had her bust added to the Avenue of Prime Ministers.

There are a lot of beautiful classical statues in the gardens, I wandered around and took a photo of each one I could find.

Long before Mel Gibson's Braveheart, as a child, Sir William Wallace was my hero, such a nice surprise to find him here.

There were at least two weddings taking place, a quick shot to show my daughter-in-law to be some ideas for bridesmaids dresses.

My Uncle Ron enjoying a Guinness with his lunch.

Well, that is all from me folks, have a great Monday,

hugs,
