For want of a better title... A stitchy update....

I have quite a few different projects on the go, as I am sure you all well know by now.  So, I thought it was time for an update....

Let's start with my Mystery SAL ... as usual, and as I love to do, I am drawing a bit of a long bow with my next Tudor Tuesdays SAL project.

I have chosen to stitch the wonderful Nora Corbett Mystery SAL, "Wherefore art thou".

Now, the logic goes like this....

The design for "Wherefore art thou" is Romeo and Juliet, written by Shakespeare, who was an Elizabethan, Elizabeth I was a Tudor monarch - so voila! Tudor Tuesdays!

The colours in this design are truly stunning, so I am really looking forward to working on this one ... and today is Tuesday again, so time to stitch on this again! Look out for an update tomorrow on my Tudor Tuesdays SAL blog.

Next up is my map of Westeros, which is what I am stitching on when I watch Game of Thrones Series 6 (which I first wrote about in this post, here). Each picture represents an episode from the current series.  As you can see, not a lot of progress each viewing - probably because each episode is so gripping that I get too engrossed to stitch - lol!

Still, it is all good fun to stitch on whilst I watch.

Speaking of watching TV my other TV related project is the Outlander Sampler, which you can read about in the same post as above. I am stitching on this as I watch Season 2.

... and my last stitchy update for now, is my progress on my UFO, Thirteen Colonies (which I picked up again last Friday after four years!

It is moving along nicely now, I even have a couple of sheep!

Such a wonderful response...

I am so thrilled - so far I have over 35 people wanting to join the Christmas Ornie SAL,  24 and counting for the Prairie Schooler SAL, 8 and counting for the Americana SAL and 3 or 4 so far for the Tudor Tuesdays SAL.

Now, as you can imagine this means lots of emails and lots of time setting up the SALs on blogger, etc.  So, I am a bit behind (I do work full time and this week I have to work Saturday as well!!!!!) with responding to people's emails, setting up all of the SAL blogs and adding people.

Dear Shirlee.....

.... thank you for being such a generous and thoughtful exchange partner.

My dear friend, Shirlee did a Christmas exchange this year.  It was fun to do some stitching for her and to pick out some perfect (I hope) presents for her.  And I can tell you, she certainly hit the spot with me.  Do you wanna see?

Last night, I actually put my Christmas Stitching aside and did some more Tudor Tuesday SALing.   I stitched some more on The End Crowneth the Work - I am really starting to see some progress on this piece now.

... and I must say a big thank you to all of my followers who commented on the big booboo I had made with the Ring cushion.  Oh, my goodness - the wrong year but now it is right!  I had even shown it to the bride and groom neither who had noticed my error.  But thanks to all of your eagle eyes, everything is okay now - phew!

Anyway, last (half day only, thank goodness) of work for the year for me!  Hurray!

Help please....

You may all remember that a few posts ago I announced that Debra Butler had won my Liberty Lane pattern?

Well, Debra is a no reply commenter and even though I tracked her to Google + (which I hate, by the way - just confuses me!) and became a follower she does not seem to have a blog and she has not emailed me since I announced that she won (obviously she missed the post).

I am hoping that someone knows Debra and could let her know to get in touch with me as soon as possible. Otherwise, I will have to redraw the giveaway for the pattern.

.... on a stitchy note, last night was Tudor Tuesday SAL night, so for some strange reason I decided to pick up a BAP and stitch HAED's Ophelia (one of several HAED Ophelia's I own).

Now, I have drawn a long bow here with stitching her for the Tudor Tuesday SAL - this is my reasoning:

Ophelia is a Shakespearean character (from Hamlet), Shakespeare was an Elizabethan playwright, Elizabeth I was a TUDOR monarch!

Works for me!  lol!

Now, the first pic is what I stitched when I started this piece on 13 JANUARY, 2011!!!!!!

So, wish me luck with this - if I only stitch on it once every 3 and a half years, I wonder how long will it take to finish it?  lol!

Lots of stitchy news.....

This week, I stitched some more on Henry for my Tudor Tuesday SAL - you can check out our mini FB group here, if you like.

My Snowflake Tree is complete - I am so chuffed by how well this turned out.

I also had a Stash Empire delivery.....  Nine A Mon Ami Pierre designs, each is so very lovely!

For some reason I was really drawn to start this one - I think it is because I like that little boy in the top right corner.

... and here is Furio snuggling up into my elbow as I stitch (that grey part is my arm).  He is so cute.  Last night he was all snuggled up next to me, purring away and dozing whilst TraderVic and I were watching Klondike.  All of a sudden, on the show,  there were wolves howling, poor Furio sits up, ears pricked, looking all around for the danger!

Enjoy your Sunday, I am off for an early morning walk with my dear friend, Marie (on whose behalf I must send thanks to so many of you who sent prayers and good wishes her way - she is doing really well on the chemo) and then later my DD and I are going shopping (her shopping, me financing - lol!) at the local shopping mall.

April TUSAL report...

Well, only a day late with my TUSAL report which I think I have missed the last couple of months (obvious from the biggish pile of ORTs!)


The left pile is my train ORTs and the right my home ORTs.  The brassware was once my dear mother's.  I can remember many a time polishing those small trays and making up stories about the scene depicted on them.  The stitchery in the background is "My cat Coco lives here".  That is not its original name.  It is actually High Hopes by Just Nan. But the tortoiseshell cat looked just like our cat at the time - Coco - that I changed the wording and renamed it. I finished it 2004.  There is a companion piece - which is a winter garden languishing somewhere in my UFO pile.  I must dig it up someday soon.

All of my 2014 ORTs so far.

Last night was Tudor Tuesday SAL night. I stitched on Plum Street Samplers "The end crowneth the work".  I started out quite well

 but then I realised right at the end of the night that I had made a mistake and I am going to have to frog that black cross hatching on the top right of the dress.  Drat that frog prince!

Well, that will have to be next Tuesday's task!
