Friday Night with Friends_March 2020

The night before last was Friday night which means it was time for Friday Night with Friends (FNwF)  virtual stitching night which is run by the wonderful Cheryll, here is where you can check out what everyone else got up to this month.

It is also my own personal Friday Frolics night, where I pick up a WIP or UFO every Friday.

This week I picked up Strawberry House by LHN. The last time I stitched on it was on September 8th, 2015, where I struggled to get much stitching done on it as I kept having to frog different sections and then somehow lost my Crescent Colours Ladybug floss!

So, this is how I found the piece.

Unfortunately, I still can't find my Ladybug floss - so, yesterday, all of that had to be frogged and I started again with WDW Begonia - a bit pinker but it will still work very well, I think.

Hopefully, this will be the last I will see the Frog Prince for a while now.

Also, for FNwF I stitched on The Faerie Queene Sampler - I have been stitching on it each day in March as part of the March One Stitch per day Challenge for WIPocalypse.  I am stitching one letter of the verse in dark brown, one over one.  It is quite petite, so I try to stitch on it during daylight hours.

I am also stitching on this piece every day during daylight hours for the JCS Christmas Ornie FB SAL as I am finding the black rather challenging to stitch on.

... and to finish, here is a rare photo of Milo sitting on my lap (he is usually too skittish).

Thanks for visiting and please don't forget to leave a comment as I do love a good chat,

Smalls SAL 2018_February Update

Hmmm!  Also just getting my February Smalls SAL post in by the skin of my teeth this month as well!

Although I do have a good excuse for being behind - our building project has started!  Woo Hoo!  Maybe by Christmas but certainly by the end of next Jan, we should have the first of the two houses (which is rather confusedly called House 2) we are building on our existing block (we will eventually be pulling our house down to make way for a new house) finished and ready to move into whilst House 1 (our dream home) is being built!!!! Exciting times and lots to do, cleaning out twenty years of seven people's junk/detritus/belongings/memories!

Anyway, onto the stitching....  I have four Smalls finishes this month.

1. First up is "Warm Hands, Warm Heart", which is the January Ornament for the JCS Christmas Ornie FB SAL  - The Little Stitcher, p. 52 from JCS Christmas Ornie Magazine.

I do love this spotty fabric for Christmas ornies.

2. Next is Love Never Fails which I stitched for The Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop and also for the Needlecraft Haven's monthly challenge - although I was a fail on this as I forgot to send my pic to Christine!    Too much going on here - Aaagghh!

Love Never Fails
The Primitive Hare Freebie
Over-dyed lilac linen
Changes: beaded the word "Love" and changed the key to white
Pink floss is CC Cerise

3.
I picked up Santa's Sleigh Ride by JBW Designs as a Friday Frolics piece a couple of weeks ago. This was also for my Rotation Relay for the Winter Olympics for WIPocalypse SAL (on FB). I 'm very happy to say this is now a finish, too.

4. My fourth and final Happy Dance for this month's Small's SAL is this very cute design by Paola Gattiblu, "Proverbi 4".   This was the Friday Frolic piece that I chose for last Friday's FF.

This is the companion piece to Proverbi 3 (you can see the two pieces together if you scroll down).

The saying "Gatto ci cova" means "The cat is hatching" ie up to something no good! You can read more about it here.

This week's Stitching Rotation ...

This week I have kept a mini stitching rotation going ... I have worked on four projects:

1. I kept working on "'Twas the night before Christmas" from PS Book #63

2. I started "Warm Hands, Warm Heart", which is the January Ornament for the JCS Christmas Ornie FB SAL  - The Little Stitcher, p. 52 from JCS Christmas Ornie Magazine.

3. "Fa La La" by LHN, the January Ornament for the Christmas Ornie SAL 2018.

4. "Dancing Witches" by Needle Bling Designs for the January Ornament for the Halloween Ornie SAL 2018 - this will be a "Winged Creature" - an Owl.

However, I have moved on from the rotation today as it is Friday and time for Friday Frolics.

You can check out what I will be stitching on for FF, if you click here.
