October TUSAL....

Yes, it is a New Moon again and so time for some TUSALing!

Here are my Orts for this month:

(I used the Artista Impresso App on my phone to make my photo look like an Impressionist painting)

All of the ends of wool are from my DD's first attempt at knitting - I taught her only two week's ago - she is knitting a scarf for her boyfriend.

Below is a more conventional photo which shows all of this year's ORTs to date.

If you want to see the TUSAL reports of others you can find them on Daffycat's blog here and on the FB group here.

.... and if you are wondering what on earth I am talking about, please click on the pic below.

Lots of ORTs....

... as I have not done a TUSAL report since JUNE!

So, here are my ORTs for the months July to September....

... and here is my YTD:

My July to September Orts are sitting on my current stitching obsession - Antique Roses Sampler (yes, sadly, I have moved on from The Ice Skaters for now), which is getting all my love at the moment and is really taking shape nicely.
Strangely enough, I have always been a serial starter but at the moment I seem to be OAAT Stitcher - odd!
This is what it looked like a couple of weeks ago when I picked it up again....

Obviously, I have been giving it a lot of love - I am really enjoying seeing it take shape, although the linen thread is a bit of a pain to stitch with as it frays quite easily (it is comparable in look to Danish flower thread but not as sturdy).  It came as a kit from DMC.  This is what the finished sampler will look like, one day.

May 2018_FNSI and TUSAL report....

Okay, I have to admit I am rather behind on my blogging these past couple of weeks and I am not going to bore you with the usual reasons excuses because they are the same old, same old.....

Rather, I am hoping to inundate you with a flurry of posts this weekend about all sorts of things; from stitching to house building to my travels to schools around Victoria - fingers crossed that you don't get too bored!

Let us start with Friday Night Sew In and my May TUSAL report....

FNSI first:

Click on the logo below to find out all about FNSI.

This Friday I picked up a BAP, "Spaziergang durch unser Dorf"or "Walk through our Village" by UB Design. (Apologies to any German-speaking readers, this is the translation that Google Translate gave me).

This is where I was up to when I picked it up on Friday...

... and here is my Friday progress...

... and this is what it will look like one day!!!!!

I do have a favour to ask of any of you who speak German.  The instructions for this design is entirely in German (which I do not know) which is fine for the cross stitch part but for the back stitch I am all at sea as to what is what!  So, my favour is this, would any of you be willing to translate the instruction page for me if I email it to you?  I would be most grateful.

If you would like to see what everyone else stitched on for FNSI, please click here.

Now for my TUSAL report for May.....

... and here is my YTD.

If you are curious, the large plate behind my ORTs is an original Pasta serving bowl that belonged to TraderVic's grandparents, and we believe that it was handed down to them - so it possibly is almost a hundred years old.  There is a companion green one, which I will show you next month.  When we were in Sicily at Christmastime, I saw very similar bowls for sale in the shops at Catalgirone, a town which is renowned for its ceramics.

If you want to see the TUSAL reports of others you can find them here and here.

hugs,

P.S. As always, you can check out more of my stitching projects at any of these other of my blogs that I update weekly (usually, fingers crossed)...

P.P.S. I am having ANOTHER Girl's Nest Giveaway (#6), click on the pic below if you would like to enter.  Closes May 31st.

April TUSAL report....

I am so pleased with this month's little ball of fluff! i.e. my April ORTs.....

Here it is, with my latest New Start Sundays project: Winter in the Village by Stoney Creek.

... and my all my 2018 TUSALs together....

I just had to tell you about the latest family WhatsApp chat (it is how we all stay in touch with everyone scattered around the world).

DD1 in London was scoffing at the Brits idea of a heatwave...

Whilst DS1 in Brunei can only dream of such cool weather!

To add my two cents worth in, last week Melbourne was nearly 30 degrees all week with a last burst of summer but we all felt that the weekend was freezing when the top temp was 17 but it actually hovered around 13 degrees all day.  It is all perspective, isn't it?

March TUSAL Report plus other sundries...

You know, it's funny - when I had my blog hiatus in the second half of last year, it was because I felt so overwhelmed by the passing of my dear Dad and getting ready for our big trip overseas and changes at work and so on and I felt so paralysed by the thought of blogging and it seemed such a chore - but now I am back into it in such a big way and I have so much to share that I feel like posting several times a day some days!

I must say that most of my joy in blogging is all of you, my wonderful bloggy, stitchy, crafty, internet friends.  You give me so much support, friendship, inspiration and joy.  Thank you all!

Anyway, I had better move onto my TUSAL report...

This is actually three month's worth - January and February in the vase and March in front.. Looking good, I think.

If you are wondering what on earth I am talking about, please click on the pic below.

Let's see, now what were the other sundries?

Well, in no particular order, I had a delicious lunch today out with my dear friend, Kim....

DS1 and his wife are currently on a road trip around the Malaysian part of Borneo (you might remember that they now live in Borneo, where DS1 teaches).

... and yesterday was St Pat's Day, so there were Irish bagpipers playing at the Eaglemont Village, where I live.

It's late afternoon here in the land of Oz, Furio is stretched out at my feet enjoying the late afternoon sunshine, feeling as relaxed as I am feeling right now.  I am planning to finish this post and then do a bit of stitching alternating with reading.  Bliss!

I hope that you are enjoying your Sunday.

One last thing, don't forget my Girl's Nest Giveaway #5, click on the pic below to sign up for the item of your choice - closes March 31.
