IHSW Report_February 2021

This weekend was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (IHSW) which incorporates Friday Night Sew In (FNSI). Both are virtual stitch-ins, which stichers, quilters and other crafty people take part in from all over the world - pretty neat, hey?

You can read about my rather successful (including a Happy Dance) FNSI this month here. And I would have to say that my IHSW was most successful this month with not one more not two more but THREE more Happy Dances).

First up, I teased you all last post with this pic....

Which became this.... The Stitching Bee by LHN

The Stitching Bee, was a kit (except the backing fabric and the button, 'cos I couldn't find the button that came with the kit but once I had FFOed it, there was the button after all but "Too Late", she cried!) which came as part of my A Little help from my friends subscription from The Silver Needle

Then, I was so inspired by how well the finishing turned out on The Stitching Bee, that I FFOed these two sweet designs.

On the right, "A Spot of Spring" by The Drawn Thread, which I finished stitching in May, 2017!  On the left is an unknown design (I do try to always label my designs when I post but sometimes I obviously don't! lol!)  but it is still a sweet finish!

All of the fabrics, finishings and trims have come from my stash - phew! Gotta use it up sometime!

I also found some time to put a few stitches into this design from Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament Issue 2007. It is Julia Lucas Designs - Deck the Halls.

And some more stitches on the big bear on the first of the two baby quilts I am stitching.

So, that is it, my wrap up for February IHSW.

You can check out what others have done for IHSW by visiting the IHSW FB page.

But before I go, I did want to remind you to check out my 1000th Post Giveaway

which I would love for you to enter.

Stay safe and well, my dear friends.

FNSI Report_February 2021

Well, another  month seems to have rolled by swifty and here we are again for Friday Night Sew In (FNSI), which segues, of course, into International Hermit & Stitch Weekend but more of that in a later post.

I started off with a bit of finishing.... although this is not yet finished but will be end of today (Saturday). So, there will be a big reveal on my IHSW post on Monday.

... and then a bit more on something else (if you are wondering what I am watching, it is Season 2 of A Discovery of Witches).

which did turn into a Fully Finished Object! Yay! Happy Dance around the house!

Christmas Goose by Stacy Nash

Luckily I had bought this navy blue bobble trim just the day before at Spotlight (on Sale natch!).  I really love the contrast of the red and blue and love this fabric for the back.

... I also stitched a little on this design from design from Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament Issue 2007. It is Julia Lucas Designs - Deck the Halls.

Lastly, I did also stitch a bit more on the first of the baby quilts but I will show a progress pic on my IHSW post.  So, that is about it for now - I've been to a 7:15am Aquarobics class and done some gardening so now it is stitching time again (or maybe a nap after that early start - lol).

People's Choice SAL - Birds

On the first Saturday of the month is time for the People's Choice SAL hosted by the gorgeous Jo, the hostess with the mostest from Serendipitous StitchingThank you, dear Jo for hosting this SAL each month, although I must admit that I rarely take part but I do enjoy seeing what everyone has stitched or posted about for this SAL.  Each month there is a different theme.

This month's theme is. BIRDS

I have two confessions to make re this SAL for this month:

1. I am very late with this post - lol!

2. When I first saw the theme for February 2021, I thought Birds? I don't stitch anything with birds on it.  But, boy was I wrong!

One of the projects I was currently stitching had two birds on it and when I went to my pile of finished stitching (but not FFOed yet), what did I find?  Yep, you guessed it... Birds, Birds, Birds!

So, do you wanna see my flock of birds?

First up is this very cute Galah design which was sent to me by the lovely Jo herself!

The following are all at random and where I can remember the designer I have added it but sometimes I cannot just remember - sorry! I will try to update if I start to remember - lol!

And, lastly, here is my Happy Dance, Tulip Heart (not sure that I will finish it as a heart, though), a freebie which you can find here designed by Angela from My Happy Memories - she has a few lovely freebies on her blog, so definitely worth checking out. I stitched this for the Winter Challenge on Needlecraft Haven.

The fabric is an unknown 28ct overdyed pink fabric and I used a mixture of GAST and Threadworx variegated threads.

It is time for the fun SAL called Gifted Gorgeousness, hosted by the fabulous Jo from Serendipitous Stitching.

On the fifteenth of each month we post on the projects that we are gifting to others or have been gifted to us or that we can shoehorn into the SAL in any other way that we can!

This month, there is not a lot to show, I am about halfway through the first of the two new baby quilts that I am stitching on.
