Gifted Gorgeousness_October 2018 Update

After not posting for GG since June!!!!! I finally have an assorted range of goodies to show you.

(Click on the pic above to find out what Gifted Gorgeousness is all about)

First up is this gorgeous Elephant Baby Sampler that I am stitching for my dear friend Marie's (of Sunday walks around Princes Park fame) DD1, who has just had her first baby.... a little boy, Sebastian David....

Isn't he a darling little baby?

Next, I have these wonderful gifts sent to by my dear stitchy friend, Mia from Craftartista.

Some lovely Anchor and DMC floss...

Two pairs of sweet earrings...

Some hot chocolate (which meant that the parcel was opened by Customs to check it out)...

Some wooden cross stitch pieces ...

I was also lucky enough to win a prize in the raffle at a Spring Carnival evening I went to a week or so ago ....

(There were actually two packets of chocolate biscuits plus a bag of chocolate-covered liquorice as well but I gave them to my dear friend Lisa's mother, Barbara, who loves chocolate - the Spring Carnival evening was held at her Nursing Home - it was a wild night, started at 5.30pm and I was home by 7.30pm - lol!)

"Speaking" of Barbara, I was helping Lisa clean out her mother's house (it has been sold to enable her to move into the nursing home) and I managed to score Barbara's buttons. This ice cream container was full of buttons but I managed to fit them nicely into this Twinings tea tin.

There were a couple of extra small containers of buttons, too....
....so they went into this tin.

This is my entire button collection now.....

My favourite tin is the one on the right, which show Collins St, Melbourne c1960s, I think by the design of the cars.

Well, that is all from me for now,

you can check out the other GGers by clicking on the pic below.

Gifted Gorgeousness_June Update

Click on the pic above to find out what Gifted Gorgeousness is all about whilst meanwhile I will show you my very scant June GG.....

As I have been obsessed with stitching on The Ice Skaters the past few weeks, I have not stitched much on Three Little Kittens.  This is actually where I was up to a month ago!

Click here to see all of the other gorgeous Gifted Gorgeousness.

hugs,

P.S. Please don't forget to check on my Winners post to see if you are a Girl's Nest Giveaway #6 winner. Just click on the image below.  I have yet to hear from three of the winners - Joy from Days filled with Joy, JHM from Needleworkers Samplings and Tiffany from Tiffstitches A Blog, I have contacted all three in the best way that I can (not everyone has an email listed on their profile) but if anyone has better contact with them, I would appreciate you letting them know that they are winners.

Gifted Gorgeousness_May 2018 Update

Click on the pic above to find out what Gifted Gorgeousness is all about whilst meanwhile I will show you my May GG.....

Okay, first up is my finished Republican Elephant, this was a gift from my dear friend, Sarah from Sarah in Stitches, when I caught up with her on my January stay in Dubai.

Republican Elephant
Party Tarts
Plum Street Samplers
28 ct linen

Next up is what is going to be my New Start for New Start Sundays and that is this absolutely gorgeous design that I bought from 123 Stitch with the voucher that I won from Jo from Serendipitous Stitching, who, of course, is the hostess of this wonderful GG!

Three Little Kittens by Ink Circles

Don't you just love this design?  So perfect for me?  I am going to make the Mama Cat and kittens match the four cats that I have had the privilege to live with over the past twenty odd years. The Mama Cat will be a Cameo tortoiseshell just like my lovely dearly departed Coco Chanel #5. Then the three kittens will be Furio (ginger), Milo (tabby) and Nobu (tuxedo), of course.

Thank you, Jo, for the voucher.

Please come back for my IHSW post tomorrow to see what progress I make on this piece today.

.... and if you want to see what everyone else GGed about this month, please click on the link below (it will be live once Jo puts up the link up post but as here in Oz we are about nine hours ahead - Jo is still fast asleep!):

Gifted Gorgeousness 2018_ March Update

Yay! Pretty much on time for Gifted Gorgeousness this month!

Up first is a bit of a shoehorn GG project - Linen and Threads 2018 Mystery SAL which is a freebie on their website (hence the shoehorn into GG). I have been watching lots of wonderful cross stitchers make a start on this and I finally couldn't resist.

Here is my take on the design so far:

If you want to see what others are stitching, you can follow on the FB group here.

My second GG is my Americana SAL project: the Democratic Donkey, one of the Party Tarts by Plum Street Samplers, part of their Jack's Sweet Shoppe Series.

This was gifted to me by the gorgeous Sarah (from Sarah in Stitches) when we caught up on my recent stay in Dubai.  Thank you again, Sarah.

Gifted Gorgeousness 2018.... January Update

So excited to be posting my first Gifted Gorgeousness Post for 2018!

I do have a few exciting GGs to show you this month....

First up is this gorgeous Italian Christmas Cross Stitch magazine, which my darling Giuseppe (one of TraderVic's Sicilian cousins, who is my Sicilian soul mate) gave me as a parting gift.  I will treasure his thoughtfulness always.

Here is a sample of some of the gorgeous designs in it - I can't wait to get started on ALL  of them - lol!

Next up is a very special Gifted Gorgeousness!  On our recent overseas trip (and I promise to post more pics soon), we had a three day stopover in Dubai on our way home to Oz.  So, I was lucky enough to catch up with my long-time online bloggy, stitchy friend, Sarah, from Sarah in Stitches.

We had such fun catching up and Sarah was kind enough to gift me with a tin of sewing goodies - mainly with an Americana theme (as that is one of my favourite themes for stitching).

Love, love, love this sweet little cushion...

Haven't I been spoilt?  Thank you so much, dear Sarah. It was such an absolute pleasure to meet you in person and I hope that you come visit me in Australia one day!

My last entry for GG this month is a bit of shoehorn but we all love a good shoehorn, don't we?

This is a nice package that was waiting for me when I got home.  Last year I signed up for The Silver Needle's "A Little Help From Our Friends Stitching Cirlcle!".  Every three or four months, a lovely little package of goodies arrives with a design especially made for the club plus the fixings to make it plus some other special gifties. This package was especially delightful!

So, that is me for GG - this post has taken me over a week to write as I have been dealing with jetlag, going back to work (hmmm! gotta pay for my trips and stash somehow!) and some surprise overseas visitors from Taiwian coming for a lightning visit (my DDIL's mother arrived Wednesday night and her brother tonight (Saturday) but my DDIL leaves for Brunei (to join DS1 who has taken a teaching job there) on Tuesday and the guests don't leave until Wednesday!  So, as usual it is all go! go! go! here in Eaglemont.

But, just a reminder,
