Are you planning to see the new Halloween Movie?  If so, it won't be with me!  I find Horror movies far too scary!!!!!!

but I do love to take part in a fun Hallowe'en Blog Hop!

.. every Hallowe'en the redoubtable Jo from Serendipitous Stitching hosts a fun and fabulously Spooky Hallowe'en Blog Hop.

You need to follow the letters from blog to blog to spell out a Spooky Saying to win the prize.

So, here goes, my letter is:

... and you need to hop over to Ishkabibble to find out the next letter.

This is what I would like to stitch as my next Big Hallowe'en project - it was gifted to me by my dear stitchy friend, Anna (no blog).

You can check out all of the Hallowe'en Spookiness at this post on Jo's blog.

Happy Hallowe'en everyone,

Crazy January Starts Days 7 and 8.... plus a surprise Christmas gift!

Day 7:  Day 7 happened to fall on a Tuesday so I had to start a Tudor design to fit in with my Tudor Tuesday SAL. I chose "The Queen's Sampler" by Plum Street Samplers.

Sorry, no ironing:

Day 8: "Winter Silhouette" by Diane Arthur

And look how lucky I am - a surprise Christmas gift from my dear bloggy friend, Shirlee, I had admired this piece on her blog and she sent me the pattern. Thank you so much, my dear, I love it!

Look what else came in the mail....

Another dear bloggy friend, Valerie from Fee le point has sent me another LHN design in the mail - this one is Strawberry House.  I am going to send her Strawberries when I finish with it - which will be soon.

She also sent me some lovely spotty red fabbie and some cute little buttons - lovely!

Of course, I couldn't wait to start it (even though I have so much other stitching to do)...

Doesn't look like much yet but it will get there!

Take care everyone,

Overwhelmed!

I must tell you how I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of one of my very best blogging buddies, Linda from Stitching with my furbabies.  We share a love of all things stitchy but particularly of LHN and Prairie Schooler designs and Bothy's Cut Thru designs - so Linda has kindly sent me lots of her finished patterns plus a number of other great goodies.  She has been so extremely generous that I do not know how to truly express my thanks!  I am planning to send her back a box of goodies, so hopefully I will be able to show my gratitude to her.

Would you like to see?

The Box arrives!

Pulling out some goodies...

Furio checking out "our" new lapghan.

Isn't this crocheted lapghan gorgeous?  A while back I won Linda's giveaway of a specially made lapghan - she has done a beautiful job.

She also crocheted a wash cloth...

.... amd a gorgeous scarf in deep pink, brown and cream.

Look at all these wonderful Cut Thru designs.....

.... and Linda kindly sent me 10 skeins of white and 10 skeins of black - always such useful colours to have.

Lots more to see here - lots of LHN designs plus a couple of bonus Lizzie Kate designs.

Take me out to the Ballgame and Robin Hood are my favourites, I think.

But then I cannot go past The Library either...

Then Linda kindly slipped in some fabric for me - you can never have enough spare in your stash, can you?

Then look at all these lovely Prairie Schooler designs...

How did Furio get into their designs?

Furio felt the need to check out the huge pile of patterns....

Luckily, he approved!

Thank you again, Linda, you are a truly wonderful friend.  I am so lucky to have met you through the blogging world.  Love you, my dear.

hugs to you all,

Some stitchy progress...and a lovely, unexpected gift!

Hi my darling stitchy friends,

I am back safe and sound from my work trip to Sydney - which went really well - my meetings were all successful - yay!  And I even managed to get some stitching (and shopping) done - double yay!  But without anymore ado - here is my stitching update:

Quaker Christmas II "Songs of the Season" Before:

Progress pic (sorry no time to iron) - really pleased with how this is shaping up - although Amanda is going great guns with this - much better than me.  Check out her progress and that of Evalina via the links on my sidebar, if you want to see how they are going.

Middle Earth Map (LOTR) - Before:

(Lack of) Progress pic - the Frog Prince has been having a sleepover and I just cannot get rid of him!!!!

Summer Garden Travelling Pattern Before:

Progress Pic (sorry, again no time to iron):

.....and lastly, I received the most gorgeous little mitten scissor fob as an unexpected gift from my darling friend, Cucki.  They are just perfect with my little scissors which I use for my train stitching (ie the stitching I do on the train on the way to work).

Just to give you an idea of the cute size of my scissors and the fob - I took a photo of them next to a pair of my normal-sized scissors.

Thank you dear Cucki, you are so sweet!

hugs to you all,
