IHSW Report_March 2021

This past weekend was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (IHSW) which incorporates Friday Night Sew In (FNSI). Both are virtual stitch-ins, which stitchers, quilters and other crafty people take part in from all over the world - pretty neat, hey? But boy, does it come around fast!

You can read about my FNSI this month here and here goes with my IHSW update....

Lots more progress on "Merry House" by Waxing Moon Designs...

... and I had a Happy Dance on the stitching part of the first of the two baby quilts for DD's SIL's twin baby girls. (Sorry, it is not ironed - mea culpa!)

I am very happy with my IHSW progress this month!

You can check out what others have done for IHSW by visiting the IHSW FB page.

Gifted Gorgeousness_March 2021 Report

It is time for the fun SAL called Gifted Gorgeousness, hosted by the fabulous Jo from Serendipitous Stitching.

On the fifteenth of each month we post on the projects that we are gifting to others or have been gifted to us or that we can shoehorn into the SAL in any other way that we can! This month I am still showcasing the first of the two baby quilts I am working on at the moment.

.... and I must just show you my beautiful raspberries that I ate with my cereal this morning: "Clouds of Blushing Beauty" - isn't that a lovely way to describe raspberries?

Please click here if you want to see what the other GGers stitched this month.

Stay safe and well, my dear friends.

IHSW Report_February 2021

This weekend was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (IHSW) which incorporates Friday Night Sew In (FNSI). Both are virtual stitch-ins, which stichers, quilters and other crafty people take part in from all over the world - pretty neat, hey?

You can read about my rather successful (including a Happy Dance) FNSI this month here. And I would have to say that my IHSW was most successful this month with not one more not two more but THREE more Happy Dances).

First up, I teased you all last post with this pic....

Which became this.... The Stitching Bee by LHN

The Stitching Bee, was a kit (except the backing fabric and the button, 'cos I couldn't find the button that came with the kit but once I had FFOed it, there was the button after all but "Too Late", she cried!) which came as part of my A Little help from my friends subscription from The Silver Needle

Then, I was so inspired by how well the finishing turned out on The Stitching Bee, that I FFOed these two sweet designs.

On the right, "A Spot of Spring" by The Drawn Thread, which I finished stitching in May, 2017!  On the left is an unknown design (I do try to always label my designs when I post but sometimes I obviously don't! lol!)  but it is still a sweet finish!

All of the fabrics, finishings and trims have come from my stash - phew! Gotta use it up sometime!

I also found some time to put a few stitches into this design from Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament Issue 2007. It is Julia Lucas Designs - Deck the Halls.

And some more stitches on the big bear on the first of the two baby quilts I am stitching.

So, that is it, my wrap up for February IHSW.

Gifted Gorgeousness_January 2021 Report

It is time for the fun SAL called Gifted Gorgeousness, hosted by the fabulous Jo from Serendipitous Stitching.

On the fifteenth of each month we post on the projects that we are gifting to others or have been gifted to us or that we can shoehorn into the SAL in any other way that we can!

In my last GG post, in April last year and in yesterday's post, I posted a Peter Rabbit baby quilt which I embroidered.  Well, I'm at it again but double trouble!  I am going to stitch on not one but two baby quilts for DD's SIL who has just had twin girls (she is now the proud mother of three girls under two - yikes!).

One quilt will have a pink spot binding and the other the bluey-green one.

Cute panels, aren't they?

Reminder: I am having a Giveaway, you can check it out by clicking on the pic below:

Well, that is all from me, please check out the other Gifted Gorgeous posts by clicking on the pic below:
