Final Singapore post - Holiday Post #8 - Singapore Post #8 + a Great Giveaway for you to check out

Well, we have finally reached the end of the Singapore leg of our trip.  We were only there three days and four nights but boy, did we pack a lot in.

On the last day we went on a bus tour of some of the cultural areas of Singapore - Little India, Chinatown, etc.  Very interesting.

Then, the last night we had the Gala Ball.  Here are TraderVic and I in all our finery!

A new friend we met - Nikki.

Each table was beautifully decorated.

A Chinese dragon came to visit:

... and there were go go girls!

A good time was had by all, but sadly all good things must end.

So, that's it for Singapore - next stop Lake Como in Italy.  Oh George (Clooney) - I am coming!

hugs,

Ooops, nearly forgot about the Giveaway, France from A sympony of Stitches is having a great giveaway of a Prairie Schooler Christmas design (plus some other goodies).  You can enter in the giveaway here.

"Three little maids from school are we...." - Holiday Post #7 - Singapore Post #7

This song from The Mikado was going through my head when I and a couple of friends posed for this photo with our fans.

We had all gone out for dinner at Boat Quay where we met up with some friends who are currently living in Singapore.

We had a very yummy dinner of very fresh seafood and other delicacies.

... and from our table we had a view of the river and the light show.

On the walk back to our hotel, we visited another great hotel of Singapore, The Fullarton and then Merlion Park (the Merlion is the symbol of Singapore).

Don't you love this painting?

Out hotel was ubiquitous - you could see it from almost anywhere!

Singapore is almost on the equator - so even at night is is quite warm.  So, we each bought an ice cream sandwich from a street vendor for a $1.  He just cut a slice off a huge block of ice cream and placed it between two wafers and voila!  This one is choc mint!

I hope that you enjoyed these photos - my next holiday post will still be in Singapore (boy, did we pack a lot into 3 days!).

hugs,

Cloud Forest and Super Tree Grove - Holiday Post #6 - Singapore #6

Well, we are still visiting Singapore via my blog!  There are two domes in the Gardens by the Bay - the  Flower Dome which I posted about here and the Cloud Forest.  There is also the Super Tree Grove but I only have photos of that from a distance as I just ran out of time (shopping on Orchard Road was calling!)

The Cloud Forest was quite different to the Flower Dome.  When you enter the first thing you see is a giant waterfall.

This dome, too, is filled with the most gorgeous flowers and other plants and some quirky things, too, like the moss-covered car.

Here is some pics  of the Super Tree Grove from a distance.  They are just enormous.  The tallest one, in the centre, apparently has a revolving restaurant - I am sure it would be a marvellous experience - maybe on our next trip to Singapore - lol!

I hope that you have enjoyed the Cloud Forest and the Super Trees.

hugs,
