Final TUSAL for 2012!

Here is my rather late TUSAL jar - looking pretty full now.  I have obviously done lots of stitching this month as you can see from my month's ball of Orts.....

(but maybe it is really the lack of stitching.... all that frogging!)

Have a great day everyone,

DAY 6 of 11 Days of Kaisievic's Birthday Giveaway

Well, here we are at Day 6 - only 5 more days of Giftgiving to go after this.....  (Update:  Sorry this is a little late but blogger was playing up last night! - Day 7 will be posted later today)

Don't forget to check out Days 1 to 5 Gifts on my earlier posts - you can enter for any or all of my Gifts (but you can only win one)

Here is my DAY 6 GIFT to you all......

It is an Alphabet Sampler Kit by a Dutch Designer - Thea Gouverneur - it contains the design, black Aida and the thread that you need to complete the design.  Rather stunning, don't you think?

Well, my birthday celebrations go on and on - isn't that fun?
Last Sunday night two of my dear friends (pic below) took me to the St Kilda Sea Baths where we had a great swim in the heated pools and then onto a yummy dinner at the restaurant next door where we had a great view of the setting sun over Port Philip Bay.
Whilst we were there this brightly lit vehicle came along and a Michael Jackson look alike did a dance for us.

Spooky! (and IHSW and TUSAL, too)

I must start by wishing a big Aussie G'Day to all my new followers - I have noticed a few new names added to my Google Connect.  Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I am so excited, despite having actually planned to stitch other projects, somehow SPOOKY by Lizzie Kate turned up in my hands and here it is all finished!

This is what I had planned to work on:  Part II of A Very Scary SAL, also Lizzie Kate

.... and here is my TUSAL for this month:

.... and, of course, a Furio pic - here is sitting snoozing on the top of my stitching chair - lucky for me, he lets me share it with him!

I hope that you all had a great IHSW, too.

Oh, how nice it is to win a Giveaway... or two!

Well, my life is on the improve, for as well as receiving Cheryll's lovely PIF the other day, I also won and received two giveaway gifts.  Lucky me!

But first I must say a BIG thank you to all of you for the lovely supporting comments you have made - it has made me feel so much better. I love my stitchy friends in blogland. Now, on to sharing my great pressies:

The first was from the lovely Rahenna, when I won her "Oops" giveaway:

Isn't this such a pretty pattern?  I love Little House Needlework designs.

The second gift was some absolutely gorgeous metallic threads which I won in the lovely Karen's giveaway.  I especially love the purples.

Now, just to finish, I have my very late TUSAL jar - it is really starting to fill up.  So, I must be getting some stitching done. lol!

Thanks for visiting,

hugs,

P.S. Don't forget to enter your name in my PIF if you are interested on this post.http://kittenstitching.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/on-happier-note.html

Mislaid TUSAL jar, some stitchy progress and a Happy Dance

Hi everyone,

I will begin with an update on my Mum, she does seem to be on the improve although now she has an infection in her legs.  She is still in hospital but we are hopeful that she will be back home with Dad in the next day or two.  Thank you so much for all your kind wishes and continual support.  It means a great deal to me at this rather stressful time.

Now, on to some stitchy news:

I seem to have "lost" my TUSAL jar temporarily, so here is this month's orts in the little tin which I collect them in whilst I stitch - a variety of colours this month.

Here is something which I am stitching to place on the Santa Sack which I am making for the Santa Sack swap. I am running a bit late with this but just to prove that I am on my way, here are the two panels I am stitching for the front and back.

I also had yet another new start - this is the letter "K". Sorry the first photo doesn't do justice to the lovely green overdyed fabric I am using.  I am really pleased with my progress on this - this is what I have accomplished in a week and a half!

And finally, my Happy Dance.  My friend's baby was born on Monday so I was able to finish Noah's Ark for her - here it is:

Off to continue getting ready for my DD's 21st party tomorrow night and then off to the hospital to visit Mum and look after Dad.

IHSW and TUSAL update

I had a great weekend this past weekend.  I was really productive with my stitching goals and did some other fun things, too.  How did you all go?

These were my three stitching goals:

  1. Stitch some more on Cinderella - DONE - See progress pics below (not sure why the photos look so green)
  2. Finish three stitching gifts for my winners of the Packing Advice Giveaway so I can post them this week - DONE - but can't show photos because they have yet to be posted and received by my last Giveaway winners, so you will all have to just wait!
  3. Work on my 12 Days of Christmas SAL - DONE - See progress pic below

Her dress is really taking shape now.

The frogging problem was solved!
This is really taking shape - I really like the little pear.

My Tusal jar is staring to fill up, mainly with all that green thread which I had to frog three times!

I just wanted to finish by showing you the cockatoos which visit us once a year.  In the front garden we have an enormous cedar tree and once a year, when the pinecones are ripe the cockatoos descend in great flocks, make a raucous noise and strip the pinecones from the tree.  I hope that you can see, I had to zoom right in to get any pictures of the birds.

Bye for now,

JCS Christmas Ornie SAL

Hello lovely bloggers,

I am doing a Wednesday night SAL with Julie of Christmas Ornies from JCS 2011.  The first one I am doing is Shepherd's Bush Christmas ABC.  I am doing it on 28 count Prairie Green Linen from Wichelt.

Sorry, the picture is a bit hazy:

I have done one little christmas bauble, the word 'Pole", a 'Q' a present and 'ghts'

Now, off to do some more stitching.

Hugs, Kaye xoxox

P.S.  I have just found out that Daffycat has opened up the 2012 TUSAL.  If you want to join up, here is the link: It's Daffycat: A Totally Useless Stitch-A-Long
