Off to visit the Big Rock ...

... you know the one, that big red rock at the centre of Australia.

Yes, that is right, Uluru.

... and we are staying at the Sails resort...

So excited!  It is going to be awesome.

See you in a couple of days.

hugs,

P.S.
This is what I am taking as my plane stitching: The 12 Days of Christmas: Australian version.  Can you see the kangaroo and the penguin?  It seemed appropriate, lol!

P.P.S.    Don't forget  it is not too late to join in the fun of the Swapaway which dear Kim and I are hosting. Click the picture below or on either side of my sidebar. Closes October 1st.

Smalls SAL update and TUSAL update for September

Two of my regular updates happen to  be falling around the same day again this month - TUSAL and Smalls SAL.

What are these, I hear you ask, well, a TUSAL is a Totally Useless Stitch A Long, where we collect our ORTs (Old Raggedy Threads) each month - it is sort of like a record of how much ( or little) we have stitched.  It is run by the wonderful Daffycat and you can check out all of the other TUSALers on her blog It's Daffycat.

Also each month I participate in the Smalls SAL run by Stitching Lotus.  On the last Wednesday of each month we post about the Small/s we have stitched for that month.  (A Small being whatever you like but just not a big project).

So, here we go:

These are my ORTs since May - Home on the left and train/plane on the right.

Now, I have been a bad Smalls SALer, as I have not posted since May - so that is June, July and August missing!  ... and I have finished a few things since then!

Let me show you:

Days 5, 6 and 7 of Prairie Schooler's 12 Days of Santa:

"Land of Liberty" by Bent Creek which was a Travelling Pattern.

A couple of Halloween pieces:

Little Sheep Virtues SAL - "Hope" by LHN:

A stitched and patchwork panel for an upcoming quilted bag:

Springtime Messenger:

The mug rug which I could only show you part of last time:

Some Christmas in July pieces:

... and some Fruit Swap items:

... and a couple of Strawberries mini pillows:

Well, I think that is it - there may be more but if I find any I will add them to next month's Smalls SAL update.

One last thing, it is not too late to join in the fun of the Swapaway which dear Kim and I are hosting. Click the picture below or on either side of my sidebar. Closes October 1st.

I am going to pop over to Heather and Daffycat's blogs now to see what everyone else has been up this month.

Busy, busy, busy.....

.... receiving mail, sending mail and doing some patchwork.

First of all I received all of these Weeks Dye Works threads in the mail, I bought them from a lady in England who was selling off her stash - there are literally 100s!  So, I am going to record them all and bag them in ziplock bags, one for each letter of the alphabet.

Then, I had to go to the Post Office to send off all of these goodies:  My Halloween Ornie Swap item, some cross stitch designs I am sending to a friend in England, an overdue Spring Bunny which I needed to send to another friend and lastly, the Travelling Pattern and the FLAG goodies to Kathy.

Lastly, one of my dear friends from book club has offered to make me a quilted craft bag but I needed to create the front panel and she will do the rest.  So, with a bit of stitching and quick patchwork after work tonight, here it is:

(Sorry, I do not know why the photos have a yellowy tinge)

Well, off to make dinner, then book club (our book this month was the marvellous "Stoner" by John Williams)

Thanks for visiting,

hugs,

The Travelling Pattern is moving along...

... to Kathy from Kathy's Sit and Stitch.

Well done, Kathy, please email me with your address.

Would you like to see the goodies that you have won, alongside the Land of Liberty Pattern?

Here they are all together:

The gifts spell out the word, "FLAG"
'F' gifts:
Felt, Friends mini book and Floss
 L:

 A:
Australiana gifts
 G:
Green Melbourne Tea towel
... and, of course the Travelling Pattern itself.

So, enjoy, dear Kathy.

Previous stitchers of Land of Liberty are:

Sarah from Sarah in Stitches (who started the fun)

Penny from Larkspur Lane

Kaye from Kitten Stitching

and now, Kathy from Kathy's Sit and Stitch

hugs,

P.S. I wonder who will have it after Kathy and what gifts she will choose to spell out FLAG?

IHSW round up ......

Well, I have to say that I have had the most productive IHSW this weekend.  Friday night (which happened to by FNSI)  I completed the Finishing on three small cushions, finished stitching a row of Halloween cats and did some sewing on another Halloween small cushion.  You can see pictures of all of these here.

Then on Saturday (late afternoon and evening) I finished stitching my first Little Sheep Virtue: Hope by LHN. This is a SAL I am doing with Sarah,  Lija and Anne.

Little Sheep Virtues: Hope
LHN
28 ct linen (unknown)
DMC threads

Then on Sunday, I did the final Finish on my two Halloween pieces, I am very pleased with how they have turned out and with the bright Halloween fabric I paired them with.

The last item I worked on was my PS Santa's 12 Days of Christmas which is a Sunday SAL with my dear friend, Linda.  I am up to Day 7.

So, as I said, the most productive of weekends.  I love it when FNSI and IHSW coincide.  If you want to see what everyone else got up to for either FNSI or IHSW, follow the links.

hugs,

P.S.  A couple of reminders.....
Click on this picture if you would like to be in the draw for the Travelling Pattern, which closed yesterday but you can still sneak in the draw if you are interested as I will choose the winner tonight after work.

and on this one if you want to join in the fun of the Swapaway which dear Kim and I are hosting.
