Some advice please......

I am thinking of making a "brave" fabric choice for stitching a LHN design but I would love everyone's opinion.

This is the design, which came with the suggested CC floss.

And this is the fabric I am thinking of stitching it on - Colours of Australia, 32 count Evenweave.

What do you think?
Too bold? Too brave?

But I am thinking that maybe it will look stunning!

I would truly value all of your opinions, please.

hugs,

I think it would look great. The white would show up really well. You might want to try small color blocks of each shade since there aren't too many colors. Sometimes the floss toss can be misleading.

Your color choice is excellent!

I agree with Annie in using small blocks of each color while stitching.

Be sure to post progress photos.

The floss toss looks fantastic! Annie's suggestion is a very good one - I was going to say do maybe two rows of five stitches waaaaaay at the edge of your fabric so you can see how the threads really look on that cool fabric. But I agree with you that it will likely look amazing - go ahead, be brave, be bold!

Everything looks like it will stand out really well, and it's a gorgeous fabric, so it will be fun to stitch on as well, go for it!

I'm the worst person to ask, but it sure looks good to me! Love what Annie suggested.

I say go bold. The only one I might watch is the reddish one. It looked like there was a hint of purple in the fabric so I would try that one out and see how it looks. You are a brave lady!!

I just stitched this piece and I changed the linen to a light turquoise that I had in my stash... I also changed the color of the house and the ladies dress to yellow as that is my favorite color and I think it turned out nicely... you can see it here...

Go for it! The only change I might make is to swap that khaki green sort of shade the letters are in for a very dark blue

I think the color combination is beautiful! I've used a similar color palette for a quilt before. I had no regrets. If you're unsure, do a small stitching sample in a corner just to ease your mind.

I love to try different combinations for myself, although if I am making a gift then I tend to be rather conservative. The floss looks great against the fabric. x

Thanks, everyone, so appreciative of your supportive comments - I am going to go for it!

Ooh seems like I'm going to go against all your previous advices!
I love the fabric colour, but I thing it will better to use with very light colours or black silhouette.
A bit worried the brown & red ish colours won't show up as nicely.
That's just me! I won't be offended if you decide to ignore my ramblings :) Just have fun & stitch the way you feel is best for you.

I love the fabric and think the design will look great on it. I agree with Christine, before I read her comment I was thinking "blue lettering". I also like B5200 for white, but that may just be me...
