The Alphabet Club_Saturday Detention for Y....

IS FOR

YARRA VALLEY

This is the wine district about an hour's drive from our home (how good is that?)

Often, on a Sunday, TraderVic and I along with our dear friends, Marie and Tony, will go to the Yarra Valley to do some wine tasting and to have lunch at one of the many great restaurants in the area.  One of our favourites is De Bortoli's winery. On Sundays they have a set four course menu with matched wines - fantastic!

The Yarra Valley is so very pretty.

.... and, of course we have to stop at the Chocolate shop on the way home!

... and the Llama farm!

Anyway, that is all from me for the Letter Y but let me explain what The Alphabet Club is all about ....

It is the brainchild of Chiara from The Grey Tail and Jo from Serendipitous Stitching and is loosely based on the premise of the movie "The Breakfast Club" - you can see the button for The Alphabet Club on my right sidebar.

On the first Saturday of each month, members of the club have "detention" and have to post about something that will enlighten others about their culture (as blogland is so diverse).  Of course, there should/could be something stitchy in there, if possible (although I seemed to have moved right away from that premise as the months have gone by, instead focusing on boring you all with quirky facts about Australia - lol!)

Each month will be a different letter of the alphabet - hence the club's name - and, of course, we started with "A" and now we are up to "Y",  the penultimate letter - almost the end of the alphabet but dear Jo tells me that she has a great idea for Life after Z - can't wait to find out what it is!

Please visit Chiara's blog, The Grey Tail, for the link up post.

hugs,

What a wonderful outing.... I love the wine country in California. There's no chocolate shop there though... that place looks like my idea of heaven. Happy stitching!

My husband and I come from a wine region here in Germany and I think my husband would relate to what you write about Yarra Valley and its wineries, whereas me, I don't drink wine. But what a great scenery you can find there. Thanks for sharing all the lovely picture.

OMG.. that chocolate shop! Piles of different chocolate chips? I'd probably be allergic, so it would be safe. :)
