Mornington Easter Farmer's Market

Today, Easter Saturday, TraderVic and I and our Dear Friends, Linda and Terry, took a short hour's trip down EastLInk to Mornington on the Mornington Peninsula to the Farmer's Market.  We had such fun visiting all the stalls.  Here is TraderVic (in the foreground) and Terry (just behind him) ordering a coffee a the Red Rocket Espresso caravan, isn't it cute?

There were so many fascinating stalls, here is a sampling of just a few:

 These lovely ladies made the gorgeous greenware above.

It was busy but not too crowded, thank goodness.

I did buy a few things; some Greengage jam, a new hat for the train trip to work on those cold days to come, some gorgeous strawberries and some French cakes - yum!

Now, I am home, writing this post, doing some Blog hopping and watching some TV all with Furio on my knee.

Easter Treasure Hunt Blog Hop

Well, I am taking part in Jo's Easter Treasure Hunt Blog Hop, however, I have just had a nice sleep in (my first for ages) and just come downstairs to take a new photo for the blog hop to find that my camera battery is dead!

So, I will have to go with the photo of my one and only stitched chick!  (My plan was to get this piece finished by today but it was not to be!). Once my camera is charged, I will try to take some artistic photos of Easter chocolates - yum!

Belated FNSI...

Not a lot done this FNSI or this past weekend, for that matter, I have been busy with stuff to do with my elderly parents plus a great day out to the Yarra Valley yesterday (pics to come in my next post).

A very Old Happy Dance and check out this Giveaway...

I was going through my linen cupboard the other day and way down the bottom of the pile I found this very old stitched hand towel (sorry yet again about the lack of ironing).

One end has Scottie dogs on it and the other end hearts.  Guess when I stitched this forgotten beauty?

That's right - in 1991.  This hand towel has done a lot of service in 22 years!

IHSW progress....

A little bit of stitching here and there - how did you all go?

I have finally picked up one of my favourite projects again - Cinderella by Mirabilia Designs.  I do love working on her.  The blue fabbie is a dream to stitch on and the colours are so sweet.  I did a bit more of her dress and lots on the background castle (second pic). (but sorry about the lack of ironing - I took these pics this morning just before I dashed off to work.)

I also did some more  satin stitch on The Faerie Queene and the little bit of brown where the needle and thread are is the start of some one over one stitching.

Lastly, I started this Easter freebie design from sub rosa, she has some lovely free designs on her blog, well worth a visit!

Can you believe that I stitched about a dozen stitches on this and still had to frog!  So, this is Start #2. lol! (Not sure if I like this fabbie - it has a strange open weave).

Farmer's Market

 TraderVic and I happened to stumble over a Farmer's Market at a local primary school yesterday morning.  This is the bounty of the Earth which we came home with:

Look at the size of those tomatoes!  And some Nicola potatoes to bake tonight!

 Last night we had this Crostata Mezza Mezza which is a frittata on a pizza base.  We had it with the lovely lettuce we bought.  Yum!

Well, the view out of my bedroom window is just getting wetter and wetter!  You know that heatwave I was complaining about the other day - it has broken and now we are having torrential rain! Careful what you wish for!

My first attempt at "Designing"....

This is my first ever attempt at designing, with inspiration from other items I have stitched.  Somehow, Furio managed to sneak in!  lol!

This first figure is my DS2, with her long hair:

I have plans to vary the design somewhat and stitch other versions for RAKs, I think.

Marvellous Melbourne....

In the 1880s, Melbourne, capital of the Colony of Victoria was one of the richest cities in the world, its wealth based upon the great gold rush of the 1850s.  Today much of that heritage remains in this great city, that I call home.
