94!

My Dear Dad turned 94 yesterday!  I know, amazing, isn't it?  Especially considering he spent 3 and a half years as a POW in WWII in the infamous Changi prison in Singapore.

 My Dear Sister 2, my DS1 and I took him out for dinner at a local Italian restaurant.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

DS1 had lamb shanks

I had Duck pilaf

Dear Dad had eye fillet steak

Dear Sister 2 had Chicken Caponata


Dad really enjoyed his steak!

My Dad is one of the most marvellous people that I know and I love him dearly.

Happy Birthday Dad, I love you.

Too ambitious an idea?

I saw something on Facebook, an absolutely wonderful stitchery that someone had completed of LHN designs and I just cannot get the idea out of my head. I think that I am going to have to attempt it myself.  It will be a humungous work to undertake but oh so worth it if it works out.

It is lots of LHN designs of various shapes and sizes all stitched onto one large piece!

I just cannot stop thinking about this - of course, if I do it, mine would not be exactly the same as I would start with the LHN designs I already have and see how it all works out.

What do you all think?  Some words of wisdom would be really appreciated! Is it just madness to even think about starting this!!!!!!!

Graduation!

I did promise to show you all photos of my DD's graduation from Melbourne University.  I hope that you enjoy them.

The graduation was held in the historic Wilson Hall at Melbourne University.

 You can't half tell that TraderVic and I are proud parents!

 It was a very special happy time, one we truly needed in this stressful year we have been having this year.

Love you, my DD, your Dad and I are so proud of the beautiful, clever and independent woman you have become.

.... and love to all of you too, my bloggy friends.  I thank you so much for all your support and friendship, it truly helps sustain me through the tough times.

Look what else came in the mail....

Another dear bloggy friend, Valerie from Fee le point has sent me another LHN design in the mail - this one is Strawberry House.  I am going to send her Strawberries when I finish with it - which will be soon.

She also sent me some lovely spotty red fabbie and some cute little buttons - lovely!

Of course, I couldn't wait to start it (even though I have so much other stitching to do)...

Doesn't look like much yet but it will get there!

Overwhelmed!

I must tell you how I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of one of my very best blogging buddies, Linda from Stitching with my furbabies.  We share a love of all things stitchy but particularly of LHN and Prairie Schooler designs and Bothy's Cut Thru designs - so Linda has kindly sent me lots of her finished patterns plus a number of other great goodies.  She has been so extremely generous that I do not know how to truly express my thanks!  I am planning to send her back a box of goodies, so hopefully I will be able to show my gratitude to her.

Isn't this crocheted lapghan gorgeous?  A while back I won Linda's giveaway of a specially made lapghan - she has done a beautiful job.
