Advice, please....

Advice please....

Hello my dear bloggy friends ...

Just wanting some advice, please.  I thought that for a change I would try to Finish my latest Christmas Ornie, Xmas Tea, straight away - I know, I know, be still my beating heart!  I am actually going to be organised! lol!

Anyway, reaching into my newly organised tub of Christmas fabric, literally the first fabric that caught my eye was this one:

But then I rummaged around a little bit more and found this one:

I think that I am leaning more towards the second one but I would love a second opinion - so please let me know what you think.

hugs,

Hi Kaye,

Well done on trying to get organized :) (there's no hope for me in that area eheh).
regarding your question I too think the second one looks better, probably because it is mainly the holly berries as you have them on the margins of the stitched picture.
But any of them will look amazing :)
Hugs,

Either one will be great, Kaye. I was thinking with the top fabric you could make the leaf and berry sprig the center of your cut. You might waste a bit of fabric, but it could look fantastic! Just an idea. :)

I like the second one. The elements in your ornament are quite delicate and the flowers on the first fabric are too big and I think overwhelming.

Both very nice but the smaller pattern size of the second one would be my choice. The stitch is darling and I really like the linen color.

I like the first one, the second feels really busy to my eye and the size of the pattern competes with the small stitched berries. :3

I agree with Bea- for the size of the ornament a smaller print would work better.
Can you send some of your finish-itis to me please?

Dear Kaye,
what a wonderful embroidery. Also you have already begun with Christmas, wonderful.
Howdy warmly

I like the second myself. But you've probably already decided by now. :D Loved your last post too btw. I'm behind on commenting!

Love the Christmas finish, so pretty. I like both choices but if I had to go with one it would be the first.

Love the second fabric, that is really pretty.

I like the second one best :)

Smaller prints are better for small finishes... so I would opt for number 2 :)

I would pick the second, Kaye--I always try to match the scale of the stitching with the scale of the print in the fabric :)

I like the 2nd one as well, although either would look good.

I'm sure you've picked but I like the second :)
