MAY IHSW REPORT....

This past weekend was IHSW, if you would like to find out more about IHSW, please click on Hermie below:

It is such a lovely idea - to be stitching with other like-minded people from all over the globe, no matter the time zone, all weekend long - bliss!

Starting on Friday (for Friday Frolics and FNSI),  I picked up a BAP, "Spaziergang durch unser Dorf"or "Walk through our Village" by UB Design. (Apologies to any German-speaking readers, this is the translation that Google Translate gave me).

This is where I was up to when I picked it up on Friday...

... and here is my Friday progress...

... and by Saturday night even more progress had been made....

... and this is what it will look like one day!!!!!

I do have a favour to ask of any of you who speak German.  The instructions for this design is entirely in German (which I do not know) which is fine for the cross stitch part but for the back stitch I am all at sea as to what is what!  So, my favour is this, would any of you be willing to translate the instruction page for me if I email it to you?  I would be most grateful.

Then Sunday was New Start Sundays and I started on this absolutely gorgeous design that I bought from 123 Stitch with the voucher that I won from Jo from Serendipitous Stitching, who, of course, is the hostess of this wonderful GG!

Three Little Kittens by Ink Circles

Don't you just love this design?  So perfect for me?  I am going to make the Mama Cat and kittens match the four cats that I have had the privilege to live with over the past twenty odd years. The Mama Cat will be a Cameo tortoiseshell just like my lovely dearly departed Coco Chanel #5. Then the three kittens will be Furio (ginger), Milo (tabby) and Nobu (tuxedo), of course.

Thank you again, Jo, for the voucher.

Going clockwise from 1 o'clock, Milo, half of Furio and Coco Chanel #5.

hugs,

P.S. As always, you can check out more of my stitching projects at any of these other of my blogs that I update weekly (usually, fingers crossed)...

P.P.S. Don't worry, if you miss out on Giveaway #6 ....

Girl's Nest Giveaway #7 will be coming to Kitten Stitching very soon!

May 2018_FNSI and TUSAL report....

Okay, I have to admit I am rather behind on my blogging these past couple of weeks and I am not going to bore you with the usual reasons excuses because they are the same old, same old.....

Rather, I am hoping to inundate you with a flurry of posts this weekend about all sorts of things; from stitching to house building to my travels to schools around Victoria - fingers crossed that you don't get too bored!

Let us start with Friday Night Sew In and my May TUSAL report....

FNSI first:

Click on the logo below to find out all about FNSI.

This Friday I picked up a BAP, "Spaziergang durch unser Dorf"or "Walk through our Village" by UB Design. (Apologies to any German-speaking readers, this is the translation that Google Translate gave me).

This is where I was up to when I picked it up on Friday...

If you would like to see what everyone else stitched on for FNSI, please click here.

Now for my TUSAL report for May.....

If you are wondering what on earth I am talking about, please click on the pic below.

Here are my ORTs for the month - home ORTs on the left and travel ORTs on the right.

... and here is my YTD.

If you are curious, the large plate behind my ORTs is an original Pasta serving bowl that belonged to TraderVic's grandparents, and we believe that it was handed down to them - so it possibly is almost a hundred years old.  There is a companion green one, which I will show you next month.  When we were in Sicily at Christmastime, I saw very similar bowls for sale in the shops at Catalgirone, a town which is renowned for its ceramics.

If you want to see the TUSAL reports of others you can find them here and here.

Smalls SAL 2018_March and April Update

Boy, have the past two months whizzed by but do I have a swag of Smalls to show you in this (late - sorry!) update.

Happy Dances all around!

... and here they all are, in no particular order ... ...

Witch's Kitchen, a freebie by The Primitive Hare

Two colour ways of Alphabet Cat by JBW Designs

Party Tarts
Plum Street Samplers
28 ct linen
Pattern and DMC floss given to me by dear Sarah

Democratic Donkey

Republican Elephant

Glory to God by Knotted Tree NeedleArt from Just CrossStitch Christmas Ornament magazine 2015.

This was stitched on 32 ct Mocha linen and I totally chose my own colourway using over-dyed threads.

Merry and White by Scissor Tail Designs...

Proverbi #4 by Paola Gattiblu

Little Lamb
Spring Bouquet Collection
Mill Hill
Unknown over-dyed plum linen
Kit given to me by dear Sarah

Balanced on an egg, a freebie by La Comtesse & Le pointe de croix

Very Merry by Lizzie Kate (JCS Christmas Ornie Mag 2017)

Frosty Friends by Blue Ribbon Designs from Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments 2017.

2015 2018 Years ago by WDC Needlework (from Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments 2015).  I made quite a few alterations to the original design but I am thrilled with how this turned out.

Fa La La by Little House Needleworks. I did change the right hand carol singer's dress to blue as I thought it would be prettier (and somehow their dresses got longer to hide their boots - but we won't talk about that - lol!)

Phew!  Quite a few, I hope that you are still with me!

Heather does not seem to have put up the April Link up post yet, once she does, I will add it to this post so that you can see what everyone else got up to.
