Thank you everyone...

A big thank you to everyone out there - I have said it before and I know that many others share the same sentiment - but bloggy/stitchy friends are the best.  Your support and kind wishes mean a lot to me.

I went to the osteopath yesterday and she is fairly certain that it is not shingles (and there has been no sign of the blisters so far) but that the pain at the top of my front ribcage is to do with this pesky back rib I have which often twists when I carry heavy loads (like my work bag up two flights of stairs! lol!).  So, she worked on my back and front ribs and while I will feel pretty bad as a consequence for 24 hours afterwards, usually then it comes good - so fingers crossed that by tonight (Sat night) I will start to come good.  I certainly hope so as it is quite painful which makes me a bit (just a bit????) grumpy and I am really tired as I just cannot sleep properly with it (and earlier this week we had really hot summer nights here of 24 degrees - so sleep has been pretty elusive all of this week and I am a girl who NEEDS her sleep!)

However, I did get some stitching done yesterday and last night on two of my exchange pieces - feel so less stressed now that I have stopped UCJC, and thank you to everyone who offered support on making that decision - so no pics but as I haven't got any stitching eye candy to show you. I thought that you might like the following little video about the beauty of a real book (over an ereader - although I love my Kindle and cannot live without it).  This video is so very clever:

I hope that you enjoyed it.

My latest read is a series of Icelandic detective-type novels by Yrsa Sigurdardottir.  I have never read anything much about Iceland so it is really interesting to read something set there.  The heroine/detective, a thirty-something single mother lawyer, Thora Gudmundsdottir is a really appealing heroine.  Here is a link to an interview with the author.

Well, off to take my 90 year old mother and 92 year old father bed shopping - wish us luck - my mum is pretty fussy so it might take us a while.  At least with my sore ribs I will be walking at the same speed as them - lol!

Hugs,

Glad to hear you don't have shingles. I have had them on my stomach and they are the most painful things in the world...took me over a month to recover. Sorry that those book bags are causing you the problems. Take care of yourself

Hugs

get better soon Kaye. I loved the video. I wonder how long it took them to make that?

I too haven't read much about Iceland.

Way to look at the bright side, Kaye!! That was a cute little video. I don't have a reader, and I don't really want one. I'd much rather have my books. I like to hold them and turn the pages. It's just not the same with a reader... I hope you are feeling better soon, and that the pain goes away and you can get some sleep. And good luck with the shopping. I hope you're already done, and your parents picked out something perfect!!

Thanks everyone, the pain is getting less and the shopping trip was a success.

See my next post for an update.

Oh! I just got back from Iceland in August! It's a truly beautiful and magical place and if you ever get the opportunity I saw go! It's just so breathtaking!

Here are some pictures if you're interested in seeing them, and if not then no worries!
