What I did on Sunday.... plus a mini competition

But first welcome to my new followers and to the new bloggers who have so kindly commented on my blog.  Welcome to my little bit of the world - sit down, have a cuppa, get out your stitching and let's have a chat.

[Now, this has turned into rather a lengthy post as I keep updating it and there are lots of pics but please read to the end so that you can enter in my Ladies who Lunch Mini Competition.]

As you know, at the end of last week I was feeling rather low with twisted ribs but my great blogging buddies gave me lots of support and suddenly it all didn't seem too bad.  Then on Sunday, I had a pretty good day...

In the morning my dear friend, Marie and I did our usual walk around Princes Park.  Here are some pics of the beautiful place which we are luck enough to enjoy every Sunday.

There is a small lake, it is lovely to see the fountain running again after our 11 years of drought and the duck family is back.

Marie's dog Pooch (short for Puccini) - she is a Cavoodle. So cute.

Lots of people walk/run the 3.2km loop around the park - including lots of footballers.

Some of the pavilions date from the 1930s.

The Melbourne Cemetery is across the road.

Carlton's (an AFL team) old ground is at the centre of the parkland.

Then, later on Sunday, I went out with two of my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday.  We went to the Studley Park Boathouse on the Yarra River:

The birthday girl is on the right and I am on the left.

Getting ready for Australia Day (January 26th)

We had a lovely time - it was very relaxing, sharing a bottle of wine by the Yarra.  Friends and good food - what more could you ask?

Update:  I have just thought of a good idea for a mini competition, here we go:

Ladies that Lunch Mini Competition:

Two of the ladies who lunched each had the scrumptious apple and berry crumble - one each (Dessert photo number 2) whilst one lady had the delicious lemon tart (Dessert photo number 1).

So, how well do you think that you know me?  Which Dessert did I partake of? If you have a reason for your choice - I would love to hear it.

Comment with your knowledgeable guess on this post only by midnight this Friday night to win a mini mystery prize.

As there is a 50/50 chance that you can guess right - I will use the random generator to choose a winner.

Good luck everyone.

Hugs,

P.S. Don't forget to check out the new Giveaways listed on my sidebar.

P.P.S. Is anyone else having trouble with updating the list of blogs they follow?  My list is playing up - it won't let me add anyone new.  I have decided to try to categorise the blog lists a bit as it has got so long (must be the librarian in me) and divide them up - cross stitching blogs, book blogs, cooking blogs, etc. - I am hoping that will make it easier to keep track of them, I keep missing out on vital posts from other bloggers. So my blog list/s might be a bit messy for a while as I reorganise - sorry!

I really enjoyable post. Thank you for sharing your day with us. It's so nice seeing happy photos.

I would have chosen photo number two so I think that you may have chosen that as well.

What lovely photos, it is nice to see photos of other places especially when they look so inviting!
Talking of inviting now those desserts look so yummy, I would think you went for number one the Lemon tart, have no reason just a guess really!
For me a crumble needs custard!!! Maybe that is the Brit in me LOL

All pics are really nice, Kaye.
They healed my bad condition. Thank you.

Well, I chose photo number 1 with more ice creams than 2.

I think you ate the apple and berry crumble, because you must like apples more than lemons, since I see apples in the background of your blog!

Kaisievic said...

Hmm! Interesting reasoning, Debbie. But time will tell if you are right!

I am guessing #2...the apple berry...my first reason being the apples in your blog background!!!
I have had trouble adding to my bloglist also....glad to know it isn't just me!
Love all the pictures you shared..thank you!

Ah, Shez but I called the Apple Berry Crumble scrumptious. Which word has more positive connotations? Scrumptious or delicious? Time will tell!

The lemon tart is my guess. I love lemons myself so I figured we might have that in common. Happy Australia Day! What a lovely day out you had

What a beautiful place to walk there!
Looks like you had a wonderful time...especially with those desserts to choose from.
I think I will guess photo number 1. No real reason why...it's just a hunch.
Can't wait to see what you had. You didn't trick us and have a bite of each...did you? :o)

I think you chode lemon tart, why, because that is what I would have chosen..........no other reason......oh but I do like crumble, but prefer mine with custard not icecream..........

okay lemon tart it is, as you are sweet enough and don't need any more sweetness from the crumble!!!

Do I get an extra point for sucking up...wink, wink!!!

What a lovely spot in which to spend your morning! Lovely photos, Kaye. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I'm going to take a guess that you might have gone with the lemon tart as your choice. To my way of thinking, it's the yummiest looking choice on the plate!
You've chosen such a fun way to have a giveaway.

I think that you would have picked the lemon tart, a little more elegant and you did the big treck so all the more reason to indulge.

Hi Kaye. What a gorgeous park you have to walk in. I am jealous. Love the pics.
Picture 2 is in front of the birthday girl. Picture 1 looks to be taken rather close, so I am going to pick #1.

Oh, I love everybody's reasonings as to what I might have chosen for dessert. Let you know on Saturday morning!

The Birthday Girl had dessert 2, you called the apple berry scrumptious which could be a visual description but the lemon was delicious which can only be taste!
Scrumptious also sounds like you thought it was a little too indulgent for you.
So I think you had the lemon..
ps I'd have had the appleberry myself!

Hi Kaye! New follower here so I probably don't have any business guessing. However, I'm taking a stab at it. I'm guessing that you ate the delicious looking lemon tart. Great pictures and it looks as though you had a great time. Love spending time with my girlfriends, as well!!!

Lovely photos of the park.
I think you chose the lemon tart because I've found crumbles are never as good as you can make at home!

What a very lovely Sunday you had! Since I just started following you, I've no idea which dessert you would have picked! But I'm going to guess that you were unique and had the lemon tart, since I see the birthday girl in the background of the crumble, and I'd guess you'd take a picture of your own dessert rather than someone else's! (Does that make sense??? =)

Kaisievic said...

Hmmm, interesting reasoning Heather - welcome to my blog and good luck.

Hi Kaye, Princess Park reminds me Hyde Park in London, I think it's because of the lake, it looks a great place to stroll.

Now, talking about desserts, I think you had the lemon tart (I would also had chosen that one) because you say it was delicious, a simple and understandable word for me (spanish girl trying to do her best with english) that describes how much you liked it, I had to search the meaning of scrumptious!

Have a good day! xoxo

Hmmm, lots of interesting thought processes going on here - all will be revealed tomorrow!
