About Me

My photo
My name is Kaye and I am 58 years old. Unbelievably to me, at my age, I have now just embarked upon my third career - as a History Education Consultant! I love to cross stitch and quilt, especially with my kittens, Furio and Milo "helping" me. I also love to read, I have a passion for history and I have been cooking since I was about 12 - move over Junior Masterchef! So, this blog, which started out as a cross stitch blog sometimes morphs into a reading journal or a history lesson (sorry, I used to be a secondary teacher before I became a publisher and now a consultant) or a post about my cooking mojo. Whatever it is, this blog is alway about me, my family and my life here in Eaglemont, Victoria. I have been happily married for over 30 years to the most wonderful man and we are blessed with three beautiful grown up children.

I am even more spoilt.....

Oh, I am such a lucky girl, I joined in the Four Colour swap organised by the wonderful Swap Mama, Cheryll of Gone Stitchin'.  I was lucky enough to have Barb from Barb's Creations as my swap partner - she was so generous that I feel overwhelmed!

The parcels in the box which the postie brought:

Everything Barb so generously gifted me with, in all their glory:

Some beautifully scented soaps:

Some gorgeous red and white fabbie:

Yummy red lollies (gone to my desk drawer at work to share with my colleagues when we hit that 3pm slump) and a skein of my favourite Cottage Garden Threads.

A vibrant red and white pincushion and some Turkish Delight Tim Tams (how did Barb know that I have loved Turkish Delight ever since reading "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" when I was a child?).

The red crocheted scarf (which is the perfect width and length) and mug have been put to good use already in Melbourne's cold snap.

.... and right at the end, out popped another skein of red thread.

How lucky am I?  Thank you so much, Barb.  I love my bloggy, stitchy friends!

I, of course, posted off some goodies for the swap, too, but I will just have to wait until I am certain that she received them before I post about them.

Have a great day, everyone,

hugs,
