About Me

My photo
My name is Kaye and I am 58 years old. Unbelievably to me, at my age, I have now just embarked upon my third career - as a History Education Consultant! I love to cross stitch and quilt, especially with my kittens, Furio and Milo "helping" me. I also love to read, I have a passion for history and I have been cooking since I was about 12 - move over Junior Masterchef! So, this blog, which started out as a cross stitch blog sometimes morphs into a reading journal or a history lesson (sorry, I used to be a secondary teacher before I became a publisher and now a consultant) or a post about my cooking mojo. Whatever it is, this blog is alway about me, my family and my life here in Eaglemont, Victoria. I have been happily married for over 30 years to the most wonderful man and we are blessed with three beautiful grown up children.

Thank you but more worrying news...

Thank you everyone who sent prayers and good wishes for my Mum, I appreciate your support so much.  Unfortunately, Mum's chest infection has turned into pneumonia and she has been hospitalised again today.  This time, it will be for at least a week, her heart specialist thinks.  The concern, of course, is that at 90 pneumonia can lead to worse health.  Also, my Dad (who will be 93 next month) now has a cold and is looking exhausted from worrying about Mum and from all of this running around to doctors and hospitals.

I have been able to do some stitching and I have been visiting blogs, but I just don't feel up to doing a proper full post as I am trying to fit hospital visits in between working full time, looking after my family and my DFIL (85) who lives with us and on it goes.

So, I will update with some stitchy pics soon, I promise.

hugs,

P.S. Faith and Grace, I did manage to find time to post your Giveaway gifts today - so look at for them in the mail.

Kaye ... My prayers continue to be with you. I went through a not the same but somewhat similar problem like this a few years ago with my parents & so I know what you are feeling. Take care dear friend. You are under a lot of stress right now & you don't want to end up getting sick yourself. Many {{{hugs}}} to you.

Hi Kaye,

I wanted to comment on your blog but I can't seem to do so anymore, even with Chrome :( I think there's too many blinky things or scripts or something that my old laptop can't handle. I wanted to write to you and say how sorry I am to hear about your mother's illness and your father too. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs

Anne

Oh, Kaye, I'm so sorry to hear it. I've said one prayer, but I will definitely keep your family on my prayer list. I hope your mom recovers quickly. I somehow missed this blog entry, or I would have been praying for her earlier. I will say a prayer for you too!!! Try and take care of you too during this trying time.

Hi Kaye,

So sorry to hear about your Mom's health set
back. It's such a worry when your parents
get to this age when any type of illness ... and
especially one that lands them in hospital ....
can take so much out of them. And your poor
Dad getting a cold too!! It's just so worrying.

Hope things will improve and I will continue to
hold you and them in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care of yourself too Kaye.
