Advent Calendar Day 21

Hi everyone,

I am Day 21 of the lovely Jo from Serendipitous Stitching's Advent Calendar.

This is a gorgeous Santa which a stitchy friend made for me many years ago.  He is sitting on my DMIL's antique Singer sewing machine.

Jo has posed the question - Santa Sacks or Stockings to put out at Christmas time?

Well, in our household  - WE HAD BOTH - a little bit greedy, aren't we?  But the kids were given both over the years so we used them each year.

Now, of course, my three darlings are too old for Santa sacks or stockings as their needs have changed and matured and all they want is money to fund their overseas holidays.  I do miss those days when they were about 8 or 10 - good times!  Now, don't get me wrong  - I love this time with them, too, as young adults but it is different at Xmas time now.

Off to work for the last time this year - yay!

Merry Xmas,

Love the little santa. I also have one of those sewing machines; though it does not work.

Have a great last day! I'm off work now for 2 weeks. This time of the year is great to be away from work as everyone else is too so hopefully we don't go back to hundreds of emails!!
Have a wonderful Christmas & New Year. All the best for 2013!

Oh, the first vote for a sack -- I have to admit, I don't even know what a Santa sack is! I just imagine it's a big, festive bag like Santa carries around stuffed to the brim with goodies.

I love your Santa and sewing machine! Those old Singers are the only machines I'm not afraid to use, haha.

Santa sacks for us here, however neither now as the kids are adults.

Merry Xmas Gill

Christmas is extra special for adults when they have young children who believe in Father Christmas.
