Well, you can now see the house starting to take shape with the stumps in and the joist work having begun....
Now, just for those who are wondering what on earth I am talking about, here is some background:
As I have mentioned to you all previously, TraderVic are embarking upon a major building project - we are building two brand new homes on our very large block here in Eaglemont. This will eventually necessitate pulling down our family home and replacing it with a brand new "dream" home for TraderVic and I. This will be the Front House. As our block is so large, we are also building another home in the back yard whilst still living in the original house. This is called the Back House and is being built first. I am hoping to document this grand adventure every week. I hope that you enjoy sharing this journey with me.

Interesting thing to see those stumps.
So exciting! So you don't have basements in Australia? Just stumps? Interesting.
Quite exciting to see the stumps in!
Great, Kaye. I wish you house ends quickly. Interesting photos. In Greece, most of the houses have basements (not mine). Kisses, my friend.
Looks like huge progress this week! Thanks for letting us all have a weekly peek at the changes. :) I'm curious about the stumps too as I'm used to houses being built with basements or on concrete slabs....
Basements seem to be an international thing but they are really rare here in the UK. I have never lived in a house with a basement and neither would I want to. Things dwell in basements LOL
Wow, I'm looking forward to reporting every week! I'm very interested in building your new house!
Hugs!
Your builders are making great progress.
Noooo, basements are a must! They are life-savers here. I'm guessing the posts make the crawl space...? Or is there not even that?
Things are definitely moving along. I do give you credit for 2 houses, one was more than enough for me to deal with!
Oh Kaye, how exciting! I'm looking forward to seeing the progress, I know it was fun to watch our house come together.
