TUSAL Report_April 2011 Update

Okay, TUSAL time again, here are my April ORTs....   Travel ORTs on the left and home ORTs on the right, sitting with a pile of my latest Stash Empire acquistions (some lovely fabric for finishing Christmas Ornies).

... and here are all of this year's ORTs so far in my ORT jar.

If you are wondering what I am talking about, TUSAL stands for the Totally Useless Stitch A Long, where we post each month's collection of ORTs (Old Ratty Threads). You can read all about it by clicking on the pic below:

Fully Finished Gallery SAL_April Report + April FNwF

So, it is that time of the month again - time to show off my Fully Finished Objects...

Hosted by Rachel the Ten Hour Stitcher

This is a great SAL, designed to motivate us all to do something with that box of Finished pieces instead of just storing them under the bed or in my case, in a drawer! The idea is to link up on Rachel's blog on or after the 10th of each month (10 Hour Stitcher - 10th of the month).....

So, how did I go this month?  Well, not as highly successful as earlier months, with only TWO FFOs this month: giving me a running total of FFOs for 2021 of TWENTY-ONE!

My first FFO is this cute bib which I found when I was tidying up my sewing room in preparation for our big move to the Front House in about two week's time. Now, I have had this big in my stash for a very long time and every time I "found" it, I would think to myself that I really needed to do something with it.  Well, anyway, I found it again on Thursday and then only seconds later I found the perfect pattern of beachy designs for it, borrowed the alphabet from my latest new start, Margaret Bodin's Work 1802 and Bob's your Uncle - it was all stitched up!

The bib and the beachy designs are just perfect as this bib is destined for my very dear friend, Lisa's first grandson who often visits them at their holiday house at the beach.

My second FFO is, of course, my Happy Easter which you would have seen a couple of posts ago.

This was a freebie from My Fanny Designs, which you can find here.

Last night was Friday Night with Friends, so here is my Friday Night with Friends_April 2021 edition

Surprise Mail...

Well, sort of... the story being that I signed up for The Crewel Gobelin's Schoolgirl Sewing Club 2021 a couple of months ago but then totally forgot all about it (other things on my mind, I suppose!). So, it was a lovely surprise when the postie delivered it....

So, I know what I am going to be stitching on tonight....

Smalls SAL_March 2021 Report

So, here we are again, almost at the end of the month and time for the Small SAL check-in.  This is another wonderful SAL, whereby on the last Friday of each month we update you all with the Small designs which we have completed that month.  It is hosted by the lovely Mary from Mary's Thread.

Please click on the Smalls SAL logo below if you would like to see what everyone else stitched this month.

Unfortunately, I can only show a sneakpeek of what I have finished this month as I am saving it for Jo from Serendipitious Stitching's Easter Blog Hop, which is coming up on Good Friday.  It is the bunny on the right.

So, please do hop back on Good Friday to join in the bloghop.

Stay safe and well, my dear friends.

IHSW Report_March 2021

This past weekend was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (IHSW) which incorporates Friday Night Sew In (FNSI). Both are virtual stitch-ins, which stitchers, quilters and other crafty people take part in from all over the world - pretty neat, hey? But boy, does it come around fast!

You can read about my FNSI this month here and here goes with my IHSW update....

Lots more progress on "Merry House" by Waxing Moon Designs...

... and I had a Happy Dance on the stitching part of the first of the two baby quilts for DD's SIL's twin baby girls. (Sorry, it is not ironed - mea culpa!)

I am very happy with my IHSW progress this month!

You can check out what others have done for IHSW by visiting the IHSW FB page.

FNSI Report_March 2021

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that another month has gone by and here we are heading towards the end of March!  But, at least that means it is time again for Friday Night Sew In (FNSI), which segues, of course, into International Hermit & Stitch Weekend but more of that in a later post.  Both of these SALs are virtual stitch-ins with stitchers taking part from all around the world to "stitch together" for Friday night and then over the weekend for IHSW.

This FNSI, I stitched on "Merry House" from "Christmas House Trio" by Waxing Moon Designs.

I also stitched on a secret Easter project but here is a sneak peek!

Click on the FNSI logo below, if you would like to see what everyone else got up to last evening.

February Out and About Round Up 2021_Part Two

 Hello lovely fellow bloggers,

Here is my Part Two February, Out and About Round Up - The Sydney Trip!  You can read Part One here.

In the last week of February, TraderVic and I set off on our first journey in over a year!  Like so many of us across the world, our travels have been limited and in our second Lockdown last year we could not move more than 5km from our home for over 115 days!

So, TraderVic and I were very happy to hop into the car to make the nine hour or so drive up to Sydney to see DS2 and his lovely girlfriend.  We were also excited to be able to spend some time with our dear friends, Marie and Tony who are living in Sydney for six months to spend time with their two daughters and their new grandchildren.  Please Note: the babies are NOT my grandbabies, alas - they are Marie and Tony's - TraderVic and I are still waiting patiently (but maybe not so patiently on my part - lol!) for grandchildren to be even thought of by our younger generation!

The pics are all randomly placed - Enjoy!

I had cuddles with Baby Max (five months old).

We went out for yummy dinners and lunches - many of them with lovely views of Sydney.

We saw lots of fascinating things....

Lots of cups of tea with Marie....

A brand new baby was born as we were travelling up to Sydney - here are the proud parents four days later - a picture with me with Baby Piper is coming up.

And, of course, lots of cuddles with MY baby - DS2 - and we couldn't not go to the Opera Bar!

Cuddling Baby Piper - four days old!

So cheers to my family and friends in Sydney!  ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

P.S. Don't forget it is FNSI tonight and IHSW this weekend!  Come back soon to see my updates for both these SALs.
