Train stitching.....

I have started a new small as my latest Train stitching project (ie I stitch on this on the train on the way to work).

It is a freebie from Broderie Passion and here are the original colours (as shown on the pattern):

Now, I have decided to be adventurous and play around with some of my Cottage Garden Threads, which are lovely Australian variegated hand-dyed threads.

What do you think?

FNWF

Only a very little stitching done this FNWF - sorry, but I was just so exhausted (after a very busy week at work) on Friday night that I could barely pick up a needle.

I started my next Flower Fairy for the third round of my Joan Elliott RR - this very small start will eventually be Lavender Fairy.

Just to give you a reading update, I am currently rereading The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.  My DD and I went to see the movie the other night. We enjoyed it but we did feel that you needed to have read the books to fully enjoy the film.

Also, just wanted to leave you with the first roses from my garden:

Three month TUSAL update

.... Oh dear, my first TUSAL update for three months. At least all these ORTs prove that I have been doing lots of stitching even though I am late on my stitching updates too! lol!

Top pile is my home stitching ORTs and bottom is my train ORTs pile.

All of my ORTs so far for 2013

Lastly, here is a pic of some gorgeous purple tulips on my desk at work.

 Bye for now, hugs,

Kaye

The Best Offer

My DF, Marie, and I went to see a great film last night.  It was called "The Best Offer" and starred Australia's own Geoffrey Rush (a marvellous actor).  The film is about the art world and it is intelligent, very beautiful and incredibly intriguing.  I loved it!

It is quite a slow movie (ie definitely not an action flick) but is so beautifully filmed in Italy, Vienna and Prague.  The score is by Morricone which lends a wonderful eerie quality to the movie.

If you do go and see it I would love to hear your review of the film.

Lilies!

Look at these gorgeous coloured lilies which I saw at the green grocers as I passed by on my way to work yesterday morning.  Aren't the colours amazing? I think they have been dyed but they look as if they have been delicately hand painted.

Enjoy!

I love Furio!

Now, this probably is no surprise to those of you who visit my blog frequently but I love my kitty cat, Furio, very much.

He is a very affectionate cat and is most adorable.  Even my friends at work who are dog lovers know that Furio is a remarkable cat.

One example of the joy he brings to my life occurred the other night.  I had just been on the phone to my dear parents and I finished the call feeling quite despondent as I am still very worried as to how they are going to cope at home together now that Mum has finished respite (she only weighed 32 kilos this morning when I went to visit Dad for Father's Day!) So, anyway, after the call I lay down on the bed to have a little weep.  Next thing I know, Furio had come up two floors (we have an attic bedroom) and was snuggling right into my shoulder, purring like mad to make me feel better.  He didn't do any of his usual miaowing, "here I am, adore me", it was all about comforting me.

How can you not love a cat like that?
