High jinks in the Speigeltent....

As part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, TraderVic and I went with our dear friends, Marie and Tony to an acrobatic show in the Speigeltent ....

Now, as I said to Tony when we arrived outside the tent and saw a large number of young children lined up with their parents and grandparents, maybe the fact that it was an acrobatic show on at 3.15pm on a Wednesday afternoon should have alerted us to it being a children's show!

Nevertheless, inside we went, rather sheepishly as the only adults without a bodyguard of children, and took our seats and prepared ourselves for amusement - which we got in spades.  Whilst the story line was silly and very pantomime-like, the actual acrobats and juggling, etc were a lot of fun and most entertaining.

It was all rather silly but a lot of fun nevertheless.  We were finished by 4pm so it was off to the riverside for a couple of relaxing drinks on an perfect Autumn Melbourne evening then an early dinner and home by 7.30pm!  (Who says that we don't live an exciting life?)

April TUSAL report....

I am so pleased with this month's little ball of fluff! i.e. my April ORTs.....

Here it is, with my latest New Start Sundays project: Winter in the Village by Stoney Creek.

... and my all my 2018 TUSALs together....

If you are wondering what on earth I am talking about, please click on the pic below.

I just had to tell you about the latest family WhatsApp chat (it is how we all stay in touch with everyone scattered around the world).

DD1 in London was scoffing at the Brits idea of a heatwave...

Whilst DS1 in Brunei can only dream of such cool weather!

To add my two cents worth in, last week Melbourne was nearly 30 degrees all week with a last burst of summer but we all felt that the weekend was freezing when the top temp was 17 but it actually hovered around 13 degrees all day.  It is all perspective, isn't it?

GRAND DESIGNS EAGLEMONT: THE TWO HOUSE PROJECT: BACK HOUSE_WEEKS FIVE AND SIX

Well, you can now see the house starting to take shape with the stumps in and the joist work having begun....

Now, just for those who are wondering what on earth I am talking about, here is some background:

As I have mentioned to you all previously, TraderVic are embarking upon a major building project - we are building two brand new homes on our very large block here in Eaglemont.  This will eventually necessitate pulling down our family home and replacing it with a brand new "dream" home for TraderVic and I.  This will be the Front House.  As our block is so large, we are also building another home in the back yard whilst still living in the original house.  This is called the Back House and is being built first.  I am hoping to document this grand adventure every week. I hope that you enjoy sharing this journey with me.

Winners, Winners, Lots of Chicken Dinners.....

Well, it is long past time to announce the winners of The Sort of/Sorting Girl's Nest Giveaway #5!  I am sorry that it has taken me a few days longer than I intended but I have been ill all of this week with some sort of gastric flu and I am still not feeling 100%.  Needless to say, I have been spending my days either huddled in bed or in my stitching chair, cuddling the cat and moaning "Why me?".  The only upside has been lots of Netflix and lots of stitching happening but not much else.

Anyway, enough moaning from me - this illness, too, will pass - I will be back on the merry go round soon enough, let me announce the winners.

Drumroll, please.....

The winners are...

Giveaway 1: (Australia only) Storybook Cross-Stitch - 25 designs based on various fairy tales and fables.

The Winner is NO ONE!

As NO ONE expressed any interest in this book, it will be making its way to the Op Shop, where hopefully it will find a new owner (unless someone wants to make a quick grab at it now).

Giveaway 2: (Australia only) Mini Cushions in Cross Stitch, 30 original designs by Sheena Rogers

This one was easy, only one person made a "bid' for this one...

Congratulations, Deb, I hope that you enjoy the book.  I will email you shortly.

Giveaway 3: (Worldwide) 20 Mini Cross Stitch designs by Michael Powell

Ooooh, this one was sooooo popular, with fifteen interested parties, so out came the Random Generator and the winner is ....

SHELLY from An Arizona Stitcher

Congratulations, Shelly, as you are a no-reply-commenter, I rely on you to email me and let me know your snail mail address.  I will leave a comment on your blog to let you know that you have won.

Giveaway 4: (Worldwide)  A slightly-used "Patience" by Tempting Tangle Designs plus the left over Dinky Dyes silk floss.

Five Stitchers were interested in this gorgeous pattern (I am actually quite surprised it wasn't more), so out came the random generator again with this name.....

Congratulations, dear Lynda, I will send you an email very shortly.

Giveaway 5: (Worldwide) A slightly-used Proverbi 3 and 4 by Paola Gattiblu

Again, five Stitchers were interested in this gorgeous pattern (and again, I am surprised it wasn't more), so out came the random generator for the last time and the winner is.....

Congratulations, my very dear friend, I will send you an email, too, very shortly.

So, that is it - all done and dusted... Congratulations to all four of my winners - your prizes will wing their way to you as soon as you send me your snail mail details.

BUT..... there will be another GIVEAWAY happening SOON, so look out for

A Sort of/Sorting Girl's Nest Giveaway #6, coming to Kitten Stitching very soon!!!!!
