The Trust...

Last night I went out with TraderVic and my dear friend, Marie and her DH for an early birthday dinner for me.

Marie had managed to secure a fabulous deal using one of those internet coupons at The Trust restaurant in Melbourne's CBD.

The restaurant is in what had been the old Port Authority building and has all the grandeur of "Marvellous Melbourne" of the 1880s when the colony of Victoria and its capital city, Melbourne was one of the wealthiest places in the world.

The deal was pretty fabulous, too.  For $85 per couple, each person had a choice of an entree, a main, a side (and each side was big enough to share with the other three people at the table), a dessert, a glass of wine and tea or coffee!

I had 12 hour braised ox cheeks (which literally melted in your mouth, they were so tender), atlantic salmon and a to-die-for chocolate cake with salty caramel mousse and honeycomb - yummy!

Marie also gave me the most gorgeous pair of silver and amber earrings which she had bought me in Krakow, Poland on her recent trip to Europe.

I feel very lucky to have such nice friends.

Have a great day, everyone,

hugs,
