UCJC - Day 8 update, I am a double winner and back to work for me!

... well, as I suspected, work does not really agree with me.  I have been back one day and I am exhausted! When I was on holidays for two weeks, I could do everything and not be tired - lol!  Oh well, at least it pays for my Stash Empire Building!

Anyway, as I told you, I cannot show you UCJC Day 7 progress as it is a piece for a Love and Friendship Exchange, but I can show you UCJC Day 8 which is also my Sunday SAL with Linda and Debbie:

UCJC Day 7 - yesterday's progress and X-stitching Xmas 2012 update

I have yet to take a photo of yesterday's UCJC Day 6 project - so I will update this post later today.

But I have started on today's project, which is a secret for an upcoming Love and Friendship Exchange - so there will be no pics of that project until the exchange is received.

I am, however, reposting my Believe series pics as part of X-stitching Xmas 2012 which is being hosted by Lady Kell of Kincavel Crosses.  So, here goes.....

X-Stitching Xmas 2012 - Progress pics, Saturday, January 7th:

UCJC Day 4 Believe by The Sampler Girl X 3! All in different colourways using Cottage Garden Hand-dyed threads (the same ones I am using for my Mary Wigham sampler - I just love them)
This is a freebie design which can be found here.

These will all be finished as little hanging pillows for Christmas (I have bought the ribbons and such for finishing - just need to find some time to do the finishing now)

Update:  Here are some pics of the pretty ribbons and ricrac which I bought for finishing the Believe series:

Now, here is Day 6 of UCJC 2012 progress pics:

Two winners announced...

Hello lovely bloggers,

Well, I have the winners of my Day 3 and Day 8 Giveaways for 12 Days of Christmas in Blogland to announce (Day 12 is still open until midnight on Sunday 8th January), but first I have a couple of other things to show you first:

1.  UCJC Day 5 start: New England Sampler by The Sampler Company (Brenda Keyes)

I am sorry, I did not seem to be able to take a decent pic today despite my newish camera. The fabric is 28 count cream Lugana - which is a joy to stitch on.  I am going to really like working on this design this year.  I was sad to have to leave this little lady alone at the end of the day yesterday.  Here is a pic of what the design will look like one day:

This afternoon, imagine my surprise when the postman brought me this from Shirlee. I had forgotten that I had won a runners up prize in her Christmas giveaway.  See what she has so generously given me:

A gorgeous Christmas stocking to stitch.  I am so lucky, thank you, thank you, thank you, Shirlee.

Now, enough teasing - onto the winners:

Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas in Blogland winner is:

Veronica

Your prize is the Angel kit - here is a reminder pic:

... and the winner of Day 8 of 12 Days of Christmas in Blogland is:

Kimberly R
Here is pic of what you have won:

Congratulations to both Veronica and Kimberly, if you could email me on KayeDeP@gmail.com with your snail mail addresses, I will post you your prizes.

Now, don't forget that my Day 12 Giveaway is still open until midnight, January 8th - you can comment on this post for a chance to win another great giveaway.

Well, off to do my laps now and then some more stitching on Day 6 of UCJC.

Hugs and love to all,

12 Days of Christmas in Blogland - Day 12 - another Giveaway and THREE Happy Dances

..... so sorry about the very short post yesterday - I just ran out of time and I was pretty tired all day after all of the hard work (and little sleep) of the day and night of DS2's 19th birthday party.  It all went really well and he was really happy.  It was lovely to see all the gorgeous young men and women he and his friends have become.  Many of them I taught when they were 12 or so and just starting high school.  They have all grown up into confident, polite and articulate young adults - so lovely to see.

Anyway, I hope that you have come back to check out today's post as I have lots of stitching progress to show and a third and final giveaway, so read on....

UCJC Day 3 - Thirteen Colonies by LHN:

UCJC Day 4 Believe by The Sampler Girl X 3! Yep, I stitched this design three times yesterday - all in different colourways using Cottage Garden Hand-dyed threads (the same ones I am using for my Mary Wigham sampler - I just love them)
This is a freebie design which can be found here.

Sorry, have to fly right now... my girlfriend is taking me to check out Costco - I have never been.  Don't forget to come back later as I still have to add to this post - I have promised you all another giveaway, so stay tuned....

... well, Costco was amazing!  Such good value - the bargains I bought!  Lots of yummy food and some other staples - so cheap!

Now, onto my Giveaway number 3 for Day 12 of 12 Days in Blogland ...

The winner of today's Giveaway will win  one of the three designs pictured below - the winner's choice.

The three designs are Angels, Christmas and Santa.  All three include the design and the charms (not fabric nor thread).  As this is a last minute Giveaway, I will keep this one only open until midnight on Sunday, 8th January.
You just need to comment on this post only and let me know which of the three designs takes your fancy.

If you are a non-stitcher and still want to enter, I will stitch the design of your choice for you (but not  frame it).  Please let me know if you are not a stitcher in your comment.

So, please comment on this post to win one of these designs and don't forget to comment on my other two 12 Days of Christmas in Blogland Giveaways which are listed on my sidebar.

Happy Stitching everyone,

12 Days of Christmas in Blogland - Day 10 - A happy Dance

.... UCJC is going very well for me so far, I had a good start on January 1st and a great start and FINISH yesterday, January 2nd - so easy when you are on holidays like I am at the moment.  It is going to be trickier when I go back to work next Monday.

Anyway, here is Day One of UCJC:
A Brave New Year by Heartstring Samplery

Monday, JANUARY 2ND:Downton Abbey by The Sampler Girl COMPLETED - Monday, JAN 2ND

Downton Abbey
Designer: The Sampler Girl
Free Design: available here
Stitched on 32 Count Belfast Linen
Using  Crescent Colours and Olde Willow Creek Samplery Quaker Colours

It is going to be another hot day here in Melbourne (3rd or 4th in a row - last night was unbearably hot) and tonight DS2 is having a birthday BBQ - about 30 young adults over (thank goodness they are all over 18 now so I don't have to worry about them drinking illegally).  This should be lots of fun as he has lovely young men and women as his friends, however hot spells like this in Melbourne are usually broken by a storm - which is what they are predicting for tonight!  Oh dear, hope that it doesn't rain in the house again!

Now, I am going to get out today's UCJC project - lovely!

Don't forget to check out my two giveaways and the other great giveaways listed on my sidebar.

Hugs, Kaye xoxox

Update:  Phew!  Really busy here getting ready for DS2's Birthday BBQ.  DS2 had to work all day and only got home at 4.45 - the BBQ starts at 6 - guess who has to do all of the work?  You guessed it - DH and I.  So, not much stitching getting done.  At least it seems to have cooled down a little, still hot but not 40 degrees - thank goodness.

K xoxox

Further update -- nearly midnight, the party has been a great success - all of the food was pronounced delicious by the young adults.  DH and I are exhausted from all of the BBQing and cleaning up.  But good news we did get a couple of hours of TV watching in - we are watching a new series "Homeland" - most intriguing - and I got some stitching done - yay!

Off to bed now, Good night,

Hugs, Kaye xoxox
